Not just a simple screen size but new keyboard, mini LED technology, upgraded internals and new form factor that will not change for another 3-5 years. The new one 14.1" will have higher resale value and better long term value.

But is it worth the extra? I've had my 13" since 2015 MBPro and it does what I need it to do like a champ. Don't need all the extra bells and whistles like the current one. Just like people upgrading to the latest iPhones. Do you really need the new features, etc...to justify the price difference. Personal preferences.

Apple is working on a 14.1-inch MacBook Pro, according to the latest research note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. This explains the price drop.

Great deal if you are in the market for one. 1" bigger wouldn't be worth the higher price. I use the 13" and it is more than enough. Never considered going with the 15" because I had the 17" before.

The new 16" MBP already seeing huge discount. The price differences will be negligible. The new one will have vastly better resale value so it'll be cheaper in the long run.

I was considering msi prestige 15 because of the specs but built quality and cooling wasn't good enough. Than I was considering XPS 15 or X1E Gen 2 but they have their own issues. Than I saw Ryzen 4 and decided to wait. That's why I didn't bought 16" MacBook pro. I don't play games or anything. I am thinking about going to a coding boot camp or community college for coding and I'm looking at this purchase as an investment for the future. After a deep research I realized MacBook pro is kind of necessity for my use case. Both 16" or this 13" MBP can easily serve me well enough but I waited so long so it doesn't hurt waiting for a little bit better to get 14.1" one for both future proofing and other reasons. At the same time Dell, Asus and Lenovo will be launching their Ryzen 4 models pretty soon and I might go that path too. We will see.

Are rumors still pointing to a release the end of this month?

Waiting for the rumored 14" is the way to go. That scissor keyboard alone will be a game changer.

I just hope the 14" doesn't suffer from PWM flicker as the 16" MBP does.

13 may work for many but research shows 14" is the best of both between 13 and 15 and the new trend. Many find 13 a tad too small and 15 a tad too big. This will be the new standard.

just like crossover vehicles are now.
