Someone help me figure out what to buy from Newegg, given that I have a lot of Newegg gift cards bought from Raise and the 1 year day is tomorrow on some and I hate to risk losing them, but there's no good deals on anything I need. Frown

Are there any types of pc parts I may be forgetting that aren't required, but are good to have?

Otherwise I'd have to either overspend for a 3600 b die kit or get a non-b-die kit when I had already bought a 3200 b die kit, so would have to sell mine... or could get a third Samsung ssd, but then I'd not even ened its space for a long time, but at least I'dnot lose this money...

I could get this cpu, but I already have a 3900x bought and after losing fees and shipping I'd be out a lot extra for this cpu and a cooler for it than just keeping the 3900x.
Buy SSD m.2 and put it in a case to make a portable high speed drive.

stick with the 3900x if you already have it, also the 3200 b die kit will run faster than a 3600 b die kit as the CL is lower and will make it more speedy with the option to possibly OC it some. Maybe look at your other parts that could possibly be upgraded. What MB and Gcard you using or PSU?

Buy stuff to resell if you can't figure out what to spend it on. At least that way you don't lose the money. Also, depending on what state you're in, it might be illegal for the gift card to expire, they'd have to issue you a new one with all funds. Look into that

699 at MC plus the mobo discount. But yeah, it is in store only.

Unless you just "have" to have the extra 4 cores, the 3900x is 399.

And if you don't need the extra 8 cores, then the 3800x is 299.

But if you're just gaming, all you need is the 3600x for 179.

But MC sometimes (not today) has sales on the 2700x for $129 or less.

What a wonderful time to be alive. Unless you're an Intel only kinda guy.

Buy an LG C9 OLED T.V and use it as a monitor.

Can you buy gift cards with gift cards?

Otherwise yeah but stuff you would need anyway for a new build or future build. Power supplies, cases, SSDs, ram, etc etc.

If you are already tempted by this get this. I got this and I don't regret it. It's powering 6 VMs. Mind blowing power.

If not. What GPU you got? Maybe get a nice GPU. 2080 super?

Or upgrade your monitor if you don't already have a nice monitor.

But yea I bought 3900x. No regrets. Then I bought 3950x. No regrets. But i do need all those cores. You may not.

If you are working in IT a 16 core virtual lab isn't a bad investment to learn new stuff.

In IT or software engineering you always have to keep your skills sharp. Your return in investment is job security and job promotion over those who do not.

1070 ti and x570 meg ace. psu is rm550x and I thought about getting rm750x for the extra cpu connector and more wiggle room for future parts, but not on a good sale and also all of my parts are sealed so it sucks to lose money on any, whereas I'd lose the elast on the 3200 kit due to b die going to become scarce.

I was thinking of buying something to resell, but would need to be something I know will be easy to quickly resell without losing and they don't seem to have many good deals.

I don't think they expire, but Raise only guarantees them for 1 year and Newegg is clearly changing security codes on them sometimes because one of them changed in my Raise order details and another changed where raise didn't update it so I had to file a claim. So Newegg could change those codes again and then maybe Raise would say oops it's past 1 year so we aren't contacting Newegg about it. So I am just worried to chance it.

too big for me for a monitor because of a vision prob I have where for a monitor bigger would be worse than smaller most likely (to a point). I'd LIKE to get the expensive rog swift monitor, but not sure if Newegg sells it and that's a ton to spend ion a monitor. I wouldn't mind getting a new oled, though, but this year's which probably aren't out.

Nah, can't buy gift cards, sadly.

1070 ti, but I don't really game on pc, so it will already be overkill.

I make apps for forum software, but nothing really resourced intensive to create. Also would video edit, but only as a hobby.

I just feel like there's probably some accessories I am forgetting. Just like I originally forgot about sound cards... but I hate to waste money on one of those. I also was going to sue the included cooler with the 3900x because I have never built and hate to have yet another thing to do in building, but of course many suggest getting a good cooler that may be even quieter...

^ this is tough. Newegg confirmed none of the gift cards have expiration dates and said if security codes change and I can't get them to work they'd assist me and not to worry.... but I am still not sure they grasp that raise is who they'd send the changed codes to. (they email the buyer to tell updates codes to).

My ssd situation is this:" I have a 970 pro, 970 evo plus, inland premium. I had ALREADY thought about selling the inland and getting another Samsung... so could get the evo plus for $200 then sell the inland for probably $80 or less after fees... but then with 1 pro and 2 evo pluses I'd obviously have no reason to even use that extra evo plus until the others were full...

Anyway so tough deciding whether to risk waiting or not. I have not started building, so every part I have is sealed, btw (except mobo technically doesn't come sealed).

that's incorrect information. CL is not the only thing that matters. Remember, frequency is tied with the IF speed.

3600 CL16 is optimal.
