Is this regarded as one of the best 82" options out there? Anything else worth considering?

Q80R and Q90R are the better models. but you won't find that anywhere near this price. like 2500 +

Are they that much better in picture quality, or focused on other features?

QLED's are much brighter, so if you want a much more vivid TV or are in a bright room, then they might be a better way to go. But, for most purposes and everyday watching, this is a great TV.

Thanks. From what I read, the Q70 is usually best bet for most (this one?). The Q80, Q90 can have issues with blacks, and are specially designed for media rooms where you need best quality from wide angles. If you sit directly in front of the TV, you aren't really gaining anything on the more expensive models.

This is the RU8000, not a QLED, like the Q70. This is also $600 less, but same thing, just not as bright. The Q80 and Q90 models have deeper blacks than the Q70. Of those QLED models, the Q70 would be the closest, with the biggest difference being brightness.

The Q70 sems like the sweet spot for the 2019 Samsung TVs when looking at quality and value. I researched a lot and ended up ordering the 75". I did consider the TV in this post, but felt like I'd take the better quality over the size difference. Costco has the R70 for 82" for $2250 with 5 year warranty if you want to pay more.

The main differences between them is the Q70 can get quiet a bit brighter and it has local dimming for dark scenes.

The NU8000 is better and chaeper, even though older, according to Rtings.com, but hard to find, was on costco.com last week, don't see it this week

Anyone know what version the HDMI inputs are? Not listed on Samsungs website AFAIK tell. Also, what type of panel is in this 82" model?

HDMI ports are 2.0 and all RU8000 TVs have VA panels.

I bought this 82 inch tv and after the first week, I got a horizontal line towards the bottom of the tv. I got it replaced and the 2nd TV came with a dead pixel. I feel it has to do with it being an 82 inch tv. Returned them and got a refund. I looked onliine and many people have had issues with this tv.

In the market for 82" or higher TV. If I choose Samsung, I'd look for the Q70-Q90 or an LG. Hoping for price drops in the next month or so....still have about 5 months leeway for now
