I said replace, not upgrade but since you asked. Power... of course not. Features..... resounding yes.

Hence my question, will the 20 watts/channel really make a difference and does everyone measure power the exact same way? I have a simple 7.1 setup with the 3 main speakers being Polk LSiM706c and a pair of LSiM703. These are a little hungrier than my old Polks but the 4310 does fine. Just wondering if the Yamaha will.

So this is what that speakers plug into? Like, you plug your setup into one end, the TV/console/whatever at the other, and bam, you're good?

Pretty much, yes.

Also, I like the deal. YPAO auto setup. Slightly better weight than some receivers (24lbs) indicating some quality. Host of features. Good price. Burr brown DACs in it, too.

Really happy with mine. Arrived in new appearing condition and works perfectly. Love all the modern features and GUI. Also plenty of power for my 7.2 setup; typical listening around 40-50%. Gets extremely loud at higher levels.

Got this during the last deal to replace my older Pioneer, and couldn't be happier. Arrived like I bought it new.

Was having one "issue" with audio on the second HDMI out, and Yamaha support was very quick to respond via email and walk me through how to set it up correctly, because I was dumb and missed it 🙂

Does this receiver have music direct through mode (i.e. no dsp processing)?

It has a "straight" option which bypasses all the features. For all inputs.
