I normally don't post PSA posts, but this is directly related to the our social media shopping site. This could mean if you are waiting for a TV or other 'non-essential' item, there may be an extended wait.

That is, if you are buying item that is to ship directly from an Amazon warehouse, if that item goes out of stock and is non-essential, Amazon will not be restocking it nor will they allow a third party to stock it. You can buy (via Amazon.com) from third parties as usual, but fulfillment by Amazon will be limited to essentials once current stock is depleted. They are dedicating their logistics network to providing needed essentials to these countries. [While still shipping current non-essential stock until depleted. You can still buy a TV, or video game from a third party in the case, but it will not ship from an Amazon warehouse.

Quote from MotleyFool :
Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN [fool.com]) has taken another big step to ensure consumers have access to the goods they need during the COVID-19 crisis. On Tuesday morning, Reuters reports, the company notified third-party sellers that only essential consumer staples [fool.com] would be accepted at its warehouses for temporary storage while waiting to be sold. Amazon specified it would only receive baby products, health and household products, beauty and personal care products, groceries, industrial and scientific equipment, and pet supplies at its U.S. and U.K. warehouses until April 5. Sellers of non-essential items like electronics, toys, home decor, and other goods will need to make their own storage and shipping arrangements until then.

This is just for new FBA receipts to amazon. Everything that is currently in stock is fine.

Most of the 3rd party FBA are China sellers anyway and they are hit the hardest (they have to do FBA or they cant meet shipping times and they lose selling privileges) .. most US based sellers are fulfilled by seller
in all the honesty unless basic necessities products everything stopped selling

Great, let's cause more mass panic so the "non-essential" items will sell out faster and cause everyone to freak out.

Thanks OP, good to know they could extend this to "non essentials" across the board.

...... this is an evolving situation, so the only thing we're can expect is the Unexpected.

I tired to clarify. Please update the Wiki if you can describe it better. The information is more important than any pride on my part.

Agree, had not seen it either. Traditionally, while a judgement call, posts of importance to most SlickDealers have went 'Hot Deals' FP. Considering that Amazon is the largest retailer in the word, this is significant.

You would think that SD would benefit from the 'panic' shopping of sex toys or cell phones, by having this on the front page.

Nonetheless, this is important information to know and I'm not sure they can promote an "Awareness" to the FP.

There was an announcement of them creating this forum for PSA, and HU threads to be posted to. They are not deals, and until they just got this forum, there was no proper place to post them. Now there is. Set up deal alerts for HU and PSA as keywords and you will catch them all, which is what I have been doing for years. Or subscribe to this thread with or without email updates as you see fit. Every time someone would post them to HD, some would cry about it. Every time someone posted in DT no one would see it. Now there is this dedicated forum and it will catch on. Sorry you didn't see the banner they had up for a while on the FP about this. This is a good thing.

Thanks for the background. . I use a PC and force SlickDeals to stay in the classic-mode interface, thus it's possible I did not see the banner for I don't remember it, or otherwise, I would have posted to here.
