This seems high. I have the same one and I plan on selling it for $250.

Anyone have any experience with Apple refurbs? Specifically, would there be any scratches on the screens of these?

The few refurbs I bought from Apple came looking brand-new.

I'm still using this on the daily as a media consumption device and light laptop replacement; still smooth as butter and handles everything perfectly fine. The only downside is the larger size compared to the newer gen of 12in Pros.

i actually have the original 12.9 ipp (since Jan. 2016 maybe) and same experience here. it's my main device/machine and runs without a hiccup. only thing is the battery used to last *forever* (realistically like 16-17 hours of the usual viewing videos, browsing, doc and image editing) but now down to around 11-12 hours

From the Apple website:

All refurbished iPad models include:
- The same 1-year warranty as a brand new iPad
- All manuals and accessories
- A new battery and outer shell
- Anew white box

I love my 12.9" 2nd gen. I use it for drawing with Procreate and Photoshop. Runs everything just as smoothly as the day I purchased it; currently running latest version of iPadOS without any signs of it slowing down.

I will say the newest Apple pencil (not compatible) is much lighter and more enjoyable to use as a result. Minor detail overall but if you're tossed up between the two at a close enough price it's worth considering.
