Was at my local HD today and saw Makita Gold Impact stuff on clearance - I picked up this bit set and some #2 phillips head bits but they had many bits and even some sockets on clearance. Not showing on website but BS shows the inventory, I can't remember exact price it was 7 something.

The 40 piece gold torsion set was around $9 on Amazon in Oct 2019 for price reference. Solid bits.

No you cannot. Vessel makes excellent JIS screwdrivers and has a well priced (~$15) convertible screwdriver with 3 different double ended bits. I'd recommend going that route. Props for knowing about JIS.

The box itself has sharp edges when trying to pry out the bits. Cut my witle finger a few times :c

Love Makita's double sided bits. Great for drywall + durock. Lasts forever, still on my first bit after 6 months of daily use.

Brickseek said inventory was 4, someone got there and cleaned them out before I could even get one. Bother.

If you search Makita's storefront on Amazon they just released them there as well.

Sorry Bro - It's the same mentality on the morons who buy all the toilet paper and food and hand sanitizer and the rest of us cannot find anything. The flea-bay / amazon hoarders always trying to make a buck at our expense grabbing every item. Now it ain't so "slick" anymore, it's more like disgusting.

Make sure to check the price at a scanner. Madison West (WI) had the sticker up as ~$1 off at $18 and change 3-4 weeks ago. I went back a couple days ago and the same $18 was on the shelf, checked price at the scanner and it was $6.33. Took the last two that were there.

I should be set for awhile, as I got two from Madison East at $9/each and these 2 at $6.33, to go along with the couple sets I already had from the normal $14.97 sale prices.

I have a comparable set of Dewalt and Milwaukee bits, but always go back to these. Maybe I'm challenged, but I can't get the Dewalt bits back INTO their places in the box and I can't get the Milwaukee bits OUT of their places. The Makitas go in and out easy, and have been durable and reliable in use.
