According to the tier list [linustechtips.com], this is a tier B power supply at least, so don't complain it's not modular! laugh out loud

Well, yes, definitely a better deal. CV650 is a tier B and CV550/450 are tier C. Someone already said in another post 'The CV650 is a different design than the 450/550, with the lower wattage being group regulated. The 650 is a DC-DC design with isolated +12V rail from +5V and +3.3V. That's how it gets the list bump.' CV650 has an improved design over the other 2 lower wattage ones.

I can't figure out what you're trying to say. I get you're complaining shipping is $3. But what's that about snail mail? Guessing related to rebate but it looks like normal rebate form. Why wouldn't snail mail work?

Seriously? That's BS. Was this a normal rebate flow or were you checking in with them because you didn't get the rebate? And what happened in the end? Supposedly, you can add tracking online for 23 cents or $1.0x at USPS counter (not sure if any are actually open) so that might be one option. I'm going to try that online option.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm sick of these mail-in rebates. Why is it so prevalent in this component world. The entire thing is predicated on gaining attention because something is "discounted" while also banking on a significant percentage of the rebates never being claimed and/or denied.

As someone who's been successfully dealing with rebates for decades, it's pretty easy. Follow the instructions correctly and you will get your money. Make copies of your submissions, in case you need to resubmit them.

You are also free to pay full price or buy another model that doesn't have any rebates offered. Nobody is forcing you to buy this.

But why must I pay a higher price, then wait months to receive money back? Why is that mechanism even remotely necessary?

As you've been doing it for decades, you may be a generation or two above me — but I'm simply stating that in an era where no one has a printer or landline, this methodology could be vastly improved, and it's likely we can surmise why it hasn't been.

Edit: I don't bite for rebate deals
