Finally a real world use case
Desperate time, friends. All this working from home has surely created a "new normal" for simultaneous workloads.

Warm deal if you don't have a Microcenter near you. I rather get a ssd with pcie gen 4 or wait for the new AMD chips if you're not in a rush.

This is a CPU many want but most ppl don't need. Price seems to fall very drastically too. Just 3 days ago 3900x was going on sell for $415. I would wait.
True. A 3600x or even 3700x is more than I need. But I've been thinking of going for a top-notch build this time for the heck of it, instead of "best bang for the cheapest buck" strategy I usually follow (My i5-4670K is still working OK, but showing its age). I figure it will be good for many many years more than a budget build. And by the time I upgrade, we will probably be on PCIe 7.0 or something, lol.

Constant for me all day. I work from home and have been for almost 2 years.

Did you install it on a x470 board? If so, was it a smooth swap? I'm currently on a 2700x.
I did, I had it on the Asus Strix X470-F. I would have kept it but I found a great deal on a Strix x570-E that I couldn't pass up.

Traded the x470 board for a B450 and some cash to finish out what I needed for my LAN party rig (1600 AE)

Any issues when it was on the x470? What was the temp difference? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions.

No issues at all. The X570 though runs much hotter and the PCH fan gets annoying. I would have stuck with the X470 if I didn't get the absurd deal I did on this board or kept it if I didn't need an mATX board for the LAN rig.

Another poorly paired deal. You see this at Newegg all the time, high end z390 paired with a locked Intel proc. All that money just to adjust ram timing?

Why no pcie 4.0 drive instead? That would have made more sense what do I need another pcie 3.0 nvme drive with a Ryzen 9?

Am I missing something here? Why not buy from Newegg for $419 (in stock right now) or even Walmart who had stock just last week.

Same thought here it's 420 everywhere else so it's $30 for the SSD which I probably wouldn't get

For most people and most use cases the ryzen 5 1600 af for 85 bucks would probably be close to the same in the real world as this.

I actually had to ask that since I needed to return something. BestBuy does UPS returns for free if you chat with a rep. It went pretty smoothly, bought the Steel Series Arctis Pro from them at full price last Sunday and Monday Steel Series had them for $150 less. No price match but did get full refund.
I got an email from Best Buy saying they will be doing drive-up returns. From the Best Buy email:

Beginning Sunday, March 22, we will offer contactless curbside service at all locations across the country where state or local laws allow. Rather than ask you to come into our stores, any items you order on BestBuy.com or the Best Buy app will be delivered to your car curbside. If, for any reason, you didn't order the product in advance and the product is in stock in the store, one of our employees will be more than happy to go get it in the store and sell it to you while you remain in your car. This service also extends to returns and exchanges, the period for which has been extended on most products so that you have more time. Only employees will be allowed in the store, but we are determined to serve you as fully as we can. Unfortunately, we are temporarily unable to continue our product trade-in and recycling services.
