Is carbide a good thing? Sorry I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff. And I just checked I do have a 7 in a quarter inch circular saw.

It's a better quality, stronger blade material than non-carbide. Really all you need to know. I am sure there are more educated folks that could lay out all the pros/cons, but I just know it's better. Also if you compare these to other blades, make sure those are carbide so its apples to apples.

Carbide is longer lasting than a high speed steel or tool steels. It's a harder material but that also can be its downfall as harder makes it more brittle. My experience with carbide is mostly in machining metals though so when you're using it for wood I'm sure carbide will last forever.

Used these for rough framing construction. Good blades. We would usually burn these up by making uneven cuts in awkward places, gunked up with adhesives, or tag a nail or screw on occasion. As a weekend warrior, six blades should last you forever granted you cut straight.
