Absolutely jump on these speakers at this price.
Not only are they a fantastic entry to the RP line, but they also sound great for their size.
Do note: These are not sold or shipped by amazon, however the retailer "world wide stereo" is a klipsch authorized dealer, so you will have full warranty. https://www.klipsch.com/authorize...ne-dealers

I thought these were the powered ones. What's so great about these? Seems high for non powered bookshelfs.

You can find reviews for them online, many top reviewers called them the "best" speaker of 2019 for price/performance.

Aren't the JBL 530's both better and cheaper?

No, JBL doesn't even come close.

(RP-160M Owner here ) with many JBL products as well. But that's apples and oranges.

That's not the opinion of the vast majority of others who've compared these with the JBL Studio 530s, but okay.

Why pose it as a question if you plan to shoot down answers?

I have the Klipsch powered tower speakers, both the 6" and 8" models and love them. Just surprised to see a set of bookshelfs for around the same price I paid for the towers.

The JBL 530 are better speakers stock except they take a bit of a dive above 15KHZ. They have terrific CSD, polar response, and they're cheaper.

If you've seen a tear down of the Klipsch RP600M, it's pretty clear where they didn't spend the money.

Both are good choices, in the end, but to say the RP600M is better would not be accurate when looking objectively (and yes, CSD and polar response will tell you very well how a speaker sounds).

Well these are meant to be used as surrounds for the RP line. Floor standing speakers like the RP8000s

For many people these will serve as main L/R standmount speakers in small to medium sized rooms. If you have a larger room you could get the 8000F as your main L/R speakers.

The RP-400M are designed for surrounds.

I've personally owned the Klipsch RP-600M and the JBl Studio 530 and they are very close in sound quality. Both feature horn loaded tweeters and are from respected brands. The speaker you favor would be based on sound signature preference, but they are not very different in terms of quality.

I like the presentation of the JBL Studio 530 personally. They are slightly more laidback and relaxed sounding, but not lacking in detail or presence compared to the Klipsch. The midrange on the JBL's are also better than the Klipsch. The Klipsch are the more dynamic, punchy sounding speaker so go for those if that's the sound signature you prefer.
