Kelty Redwing 44 is an Amazing backpack.

Have taken this one 4 different packing trips through Europe. Has gone as a Carry-on on EasyJet, RyanAir and other strict companies.

44L fits in the measuring bins for RyanAir if cinched tight and not too much in front pouch.

Have done an 18 day Europe backpacking trip with just this bag. It is amazing, you should have bought it in the time it took you read this review.

Awesome price! I picked one up a couple months ago as a cheaper alternative to the Osprey Porter 46 (which I gave to my wife)

YMMV: possibly free shipping $25+ ... try opening link in new incognito window

Incognito worked for me. I was looking at the redwing 50 awhile ago but the 44 might work.

Incognito/private window allows you to check if a local store has curbside pickup--the regular window showed only the shipping option and said it was not available at local stores.

The price is lower than the lowest recent prices on Amazon for at least $65 as monitored by CCC.

It's a bit too large for airline carry-on at 25"x15"x12" (especially if it is fully packed), unless you don't have it filled or have lenient airline staff. You can normally stuff it into regular sized overhead bins because the pack has flexibility.

It's not too large for carry-on. I took it on 6 domestic flights with Southwest and they all fit easily.

I have never had a backpack like this but always felt a need for one every time we go camping. Bought one, thanks! Hopefully things will get better before the camping season.

you will be hard pressed to find another pack with this quality and this low price point.

For a weekend camper this is perfect - good comment above as a carry on.

Kelty is a solid brand!!!

I've been keeping an eye out for a mid-size pack for camping with the kids; my usual commuter backpack doesn't hold much! Thanks and repped

Nice find, I have a rei 36l and a osprey 70l, almost jumped on this as the 36l is a tad too small imho for weekend summer trips ( I hate attaching stuff on the outside of pack ).

I'm holding off on a 55l something like this, but if you are new to backpacking this is a great buy for 1-2 night journeys.
