If you are like me and have Groupon vouchers that you bought before all this chaos, it looks like Groupon will be extending expiration dates for up to 12 months. In addition, if you'd rather trade in your voucher for something else or want it refunded in the form of Groupon Bucks, their rep can issue the refund for you. I hope this helps.

I have a voucher for a buffet which expires in July and obviously can't be used so that would give me more time to decide. I wasn't aware that refunds are in the form of credit and not cash.

Yea, I asked for a refund and pushed hard on it, but they didn't budge. Good thing is though, they said Groupon Bucks that they issue in this manner would never expire.

I found this out today since I also wanted a refund. I read about the groupon credit, but the wording has "local" deals in it. I've had bad experiences with "local" deals such as using discounts in the past not applying and being restricted. I feel it will be the same.

Yeah. It's just been announced, but actual extension will take place later.

I wrote customer service asking for a refund for a show I bought tickets to through Groupon that got canceled because of Covid-19 and their response was "I've reviewed your request, but will not be able to issue a refund because this deal is Final Sale after purchase. This is a condition that was set by the partner when they agreed to feature the deal on our site." I have lost faith in Groupon as a company after that slap in the face.

With the rate things are going you'll be lucky if that buffet is even in business by the time it reopens

That's some serious BS. While I've gotten some decent things through Groupon in the past, I've lost money too, but mostly through my own fault. If what Happened to you happened to me I'm pretty sure I'd come unglued.

Frankly though I knew that Groupon was run by idiots when they didn't take the 6 Billion dollar offer from Google shortly after they started. They may have been first on the scene but nothing stopped everyone and their brother from copying the idea.

I'm not a huge fan of Groupon anymore, after a few run-ins with some businesses who treat you like crap for using groupon.
