Oh God not these again. I still can't get the taste out of my mouth. Why do people like these? They taste like chicken bath water.

Not this time.

I used to get these at dollar stores as a cheap protein source while bicycle touring in rural America. One dollar got you 2 of these cans, which got you 440 calories and 28 grams of protein. A few years ago I found a little bit more of a healthy alternative in the cheap protein department with Dollar Tree's Pampas 15 oz canned mackerel. 270 calories and 39 grams of protein per can.

Just putting this out there if there happens to be Slickdealers out there who are unsupported cycling touring fanatics like me. The cheaper your expenses, the longer you can ride, quite often.

Thanks someone that gets it and not biased so rare these days. This stuff is a good buy even in these troubling times. I am in NY this stuff a no brainier for the future protein alone.

I'd rather resort to cannibalism than eat these things. At least humans don't taste bad from what I'm told.
Lol they aren't that bad for most of us, but what's gross to you is gross to you. I don't understand why you would then click on a thread about them but w/e.

Maybe I should give these another shot. I only tried these straight outta the can once. I bought 3 cases awhile back for emergency. I'll fry a cans worth in some butter and see what happens. Maybe scramble some eggs in idk.

What's the expiration on the cans?
