The one they're talking about isn't the same monitor.

Looks like it's mislabeled on Amazon and is not the same model. The URL [amazon.com] contains the aforementioned monitor, but the description of the monitor says XB271HK, which doesn't include the what I assume to be a glare shield of some sort.

Thank you. The one you linked has 60Hz refresh rate and definitely isn't the same.

Nowhere on the Costco page does it address the funky shield / bezel on this thing. Crazy lol.

It is supposed to help reduce screen glare. I've never had a monitor with them so I'm not sure how well they work.

Limit 2 per member. Make sure you don't buy more than 2. Anywho, Dell monitor fan here.

They removed the Gsync module which added a ton of cost and heat to the monitor. It now uses Freesync and this is a good price for 4k resolution and 144hz refresh. The hood or panels on the top and sides are removable too.

This is not correct. You're thinking of the x(v)273k model which is freesync. This thread is about the xb273k model which has the Gsync module. You can read about the differences between the two models here: https://www.displayninja.com/acer-xb273k-review/ (look under the Price and Similar Monitors section).

The Costco page lists it as G-Sync compatible:

"Fasten your seatbelt: The Predator XB273K Ultra HD display with 4K resolution is all about no compromises on gaming performance, color or speed. This 27-inch (3840 x 2160) monitor combines jaw dropping specs including an IPS panel that supports blazing-fast 144Hz refresh rate. This G-SYNC Compatible monitor takes gameplay to the next level of smooth. Unleash gaming's maximum potential to provide richer colors far beyond what has been previously possible. Experience something new."

I stand corrected. I didn't realize there are multiple xb273k models. I thought this is the same monitor as the one I got from micro center which is true gsync. Costco carries the XB273K GPbmiipprzx model which is different from XB273K Sbmiprzx.

Is it even possible to play at 2160p @120Hz reliably? A single 2080 ti can, for the most part, do 2160p @ 60 Hz but 120Hz I'm not sure there is a single card solution out there...yet?

Sure, on games that aren't too graphically intense. I can hit those numbers with my 1080Ti.

Second this. 1440p G-Sync on my Acer Predator 144hz is the sweet spot for my 1080Ti. No interest in 4K monitors quite yet. We need at least one more generation.
