I haven't ordered magazines from Amazon for years because of the auto-renewal.

I know what it says:
"Control your subscription settings anytime using Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.
If you purchase the auto-renewing offer, your subscription will renew at the end of the current term. Before it renews, we will send you a reminder notice stating the term and rate then in effect. Cancel anytime."

But how easy is it really to cancel a subscription?
Can you opt-out of the auto-renew right after placing the order?
Or can you at least cancel the auto-renewal before the year is up?
Does it require a phone call to cancel?
Has anyone had any problems with Amazon's subscriptions? (besides taking a long time to start-up, which is common no matter where you order)

Just asking because IF I was ordering a magazine this is what I would want to know.

To cancel Auto-Renew - go into your account, Magazine Subscription Manager, change auto-renew settings to Do Not Renew. I just ordered and immediately cancelled Auto-Renew.

Says I should get my first issue between May 11 and June 12.

I just checked my Amazon account to make sure my subscription to
Entertainment (Whenever) wasn't set for auto renew but that's not where my current sub is from.
Maybe Recycle Bank? Don't know if their's are auto renew.

I don't believe RB could auto-renew, as they are paid for with points, and if they don't have a CC to charge, auto-renew is not an option!

I had no problem cancelling auto-renewal subscription. They send you an email and you just cancel online. However, I was unable to cancel a subscription mid-term when a magazine turned out to be not at all what I expected. Neither publisher nor Amazon would give back any prorated amount, so I just let it roll and gave the magazines to a local library. With $5 it's not a huge risk but beware.

This is a great deal for Martha Stewart and Southern Living magazines, they are seldom on sale and both are great publications. Also Real Simple magazine is included as well, here is a link to the whole list: https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_...B002CT51A6

Guess what after couple months after I placed this orders and yesterday it finally said shipped and billed, they charge me $15 for pop science and $12 for pop mechanics. These are regular price! Chat with CS and they said the deal is with SlickDeals and not with Amazon... I'm so mad and asked for refund immediately. They don't know what are they doing!
