The model name "LG G7" is so misleading. The real LG G7 Thinq comes with SD845...
This "LG G7 Fit" has the same processor as the LG G6 that was released in 3/2017.

It can be but if youre somewhat knowledgeable with LG's line, seeing "Fit" in the name should instantly tell you it's the lower end model. Definitely confusing to almost everyone else, believe they're downsizing the amount or phones going forward, like the G series (G7, G8) have been eliminated, no G9 for this year or ever. Sticking w/ the V series, V50, V60, ect.. Should have done this a long time ago, having 2 flagship series didn't really make sense, plus the G's seemed more problematic than the V's..
By the way, you can score a pretty good condition V40 w/ SD 845 6GB ram, it's 2018's flagship model, for much less than this on eBay.. like $120+ depending on condition.. many are nearly new, just pay close attention to the description in the listing, which described all that's wrong with it. Have one myself, that I bought months back for ~$180, been an awesome phone, definitely the best "bang for your buck," I'm sure you'll think so too.

I agree. I got two LG V35s unlocked brand new from Cricket last year for two family members for 405 total including taxes, which are very similar to the V40 except V40 is bigger and got even better cameras. That was a great deal for $200(basically same price as this G7 Fit+taxes) each brand new unlocked. I paid quite a bit more for S10e for myself since I like smaller phones and I got a fairly good deal too.

which one?

looking to get 2 v40 for sprint , used, when a ebay coupon comes up.

currently with a v30+ (had for ~3 months)
coming from a lg g6. (had for ~ 2 years)

agree with the other comments, having 2 flagships lines makes no sense and confuses buyers.
best to stick to one.
either g or v series.

one major problem i have with the v series is the curved screen design.
makes tempered glass screen protectors (TGSP) a PITA.

liked the G series cause the screen was flat and easy to put on TGSP

Samsung has both the Note and the S20+ ultra as flagships. Seems to work fine. LG just can't differentiate its products.

Wifey just bought a brand new Samsung A30S from Amz for $200. 64gb/4gb dual sim + microsd (t-mo). About the same spec wise in between Galaxy S8 and S9.(s9 is $300+ "renewed") Plus it came with a free clear case in the box which I wasn't expecting ($10ish she bought one anyway but will return it whenever it gets here). Android 9 /pie.

Downside was the default language was Vietnamese, I had to use google translate to get past all that so I could change the language to english. Updated the OS, moved the SIM over from her old S6, and done. Huge upgrade for her for $200 plus I'll reset/wipe the old one and fleabay it for $50.

This doesn't seem like a great deal to me at $180. Plus LG is notorious for not updating OS on older models. So you could be stuck on v8 forever.

This phone actually has very significant pros over the A30S. The brightness is absurd (1000+ nits), and since it's using a flagship processor, albeit old, it has a quality GPU (Adreno 530) that can still play modern games suitably well, especially compared to the Mali-G71 in the A30S. Also, the resolution is 1440x3120 which is flagship level while the A30S is 720x1560. It also has a weird mix of flagship features like dust proofing and water proofing to the level of being submerged for 30 minutes.

About the only major downsides I see is 32 gigs of space is way too little, and the battery life is terrible...and yeah, LG's track record for support is not good. For $180, I actually think this is quite nice if the lack of support and poor battery isn't a dealbreaker. I would agree with the previous posts that if you can afford it and aren't worried about lack of warranty, the V40 on ebay is worth the extra cost.

I'm not a huge fan of the 821. I always felt like it was very inefficient and lead to poor battery life. Maybe that was just the original pixel (?)
