I built a friend's kids a light gaming PC for $750 a few months ago and even with slickdeals/reddit, I couldn't get close to this performance even with another $100.

Not sure what the catch is on this though, is it legit?

It is legit, bad Mobo, basic memory, terrible PSU. Still, the out of the box performance should be pretty good. Tons of reviews on these OP desktops but take the price into consideration when viewing them, reviewers saw this model for $1800 and even it was discounted to $1100 when Walmart still sold them new. VIPoutlet is Walmarts reseller, returned items, etc. Consider changing the PSU immediately if purchased.

Let's not forget the atrocious lack of airflow that caused the components to overheat and throttle without modifying the case. There are a number of good videos from Gamers Nexus on youtube that document these PC's.

Also, these were $899 new sold from Walmart with 2-year warranties last summer. Buying from VIPoutlet only gives you a 90-day warranty. So this doesn't seem like a great deal to me.

It's a garbage non rated unit. No idea these were $899 last summer, thought that was for the 1070 unit. I'd pass on this regardless(local deals on PCs are much better) but I'd be aware of what you're paying for here.

Gigabyte H370M is a good motherboard. PSU is good enough for what it is at this price point. agreed it should be changed out if you are upgrading this system any further.

I've purchased 10 or 12 of these for my company about a year ago. Have left them completely stock. No issues with airflow or heating. Constantly running CAD, processing video with premiere and also after effects. I would not say I put these under low load.

The only thing that's keeping me away from purchasing more is the refurb status.

Gamers Nexus tested the PSU when they came out. It's a "Great Wall", and actually tested ok IIRC.
