Considering a study out of Iceland said as many as 50% of the people who are positive could have no symptoms, maybe everyone should be wearing something.
All it might do is help prevent giving it to others, not prevent you from getting it. Social distancing is still the best way to prevent getting it, since you'll likely not inhale someone's respirations if you're 6+ feet from them.

But whatever makes you feel safer. Don't waste money on this one, you can buy a pack of buffs on Amazon, same material. A 6 pack for about $12.
Anything is better than expecting people to cough into their elbows...

I just saw a news article say that these might provide some protection from COVID-19 and flu if you can't find a medical grade masks. Might pay to have a few and remember to wash them each day.

Too bad there is no free shipping.

I believe they recommend tightly woven cotton for masks. This is polyester. Not sure if it offers the right protection. Would definitely work to stop droplets from coming out of you though.

They saying it's worth covering mouth and nose now. It's been such a screw up in our response it's hard to know what to do but wearing something to cover your mouth and nose is the new norm. /Sigh

It's looking more and more likely the US will follow what Asia has been doing from the start (and long before) and mandate at least wearing something to prevent passing it on to others. It is correct that the particulates can still pass through this or anything else that's not an N95 mask, but you will at least limit spreading it to others. And if you're lucky enough to live in Laredo, Texas starting Tuesday you can enjoy getting fined $1000 for not wearing anything...

That being said, round scarf thingy's like this and Buff's are awesome and I use mine most cold days.

Just to be clear, Laredo is only enforcing that mask rule for people using public transportation or public buildings. I find the curfew they have (10PM to 5AM) just as interesting.
