Decent price on a perfectly good oil. This meets spec for my Subaru, and I've used it a few times. Can't tell the difference between this, Mobil 1, or Shell Gast Truck in the Subie, so I've been getting whichever is cheapest every 5k. FWIW, I always trusted Castrol (GTX dino) in my RX-7s and use the Euro formula in my BMW, though I admit that a proper maintenance schedule is way more important than the brand of oil.
at the rate i'm driving my car

i won't need an oil change until jan 2022

Tempting, but I'm overstocked on oil. This one goes straight to 15, so you can choose "get it sooner" and still get the full discount.

I bought like 5 of these last time it was in the $12-15 range. I thought it was a great deal and it will go away later, so I hoarded it. Now it seems like this price is becoming the norm. And with oil prices dropping, it might go even lower.

I usually have to scramble to find a deal on 1 5qt jug a year after M1 and Pennzoil rebates. Going to give this a try in wifeys CRV. If it's good stuff maybe I can get away from Pennzoils horrible rebate program.

I don't know all thenins and outs of the oil industry but I think synthetic oil is made with natural gas. If we stop fracking and domestic oil extraction, then we also stop extracting natural gas. Though oil is cheap, I'm guessing the lack of natural gas extraction (biproduct sort of due to oil extraction) will cause natural gas prices to spike, potentially making synthetic oil more expensive.

Only one brand uses natural gas constantly. But it's indirect. They collect byproduct, essentially the same hydrocarbon molecules whether ng or API base stock, some other brands toggle based on supply.

For those interested, I have used both this and Mobil 1 for my 2016.5 CX-5 w/o any issues.
I change my oil & filter ~ 5K miles and both brands come out pretty clean - much cleaner than with my GTI's 2.0 TSI at least, despite the oil filter being half the size with the Mazda (granted, the GTI has double the miles and is driven harder).

Also using it in my cx5 along with the Bosch filters that were $1.5/ea a few months back. Truly a cheap car to maintain

I have used this in my Subaru and my 19 CRV. It's good oil but I change often.
