Sirius SiriusXM : Renew for $30/6 months or $60/year without having to call up

So this is new...

I went to my SiriusXM account. It was about to expire tomorrow, and I didn't want to pay their ridiculous "normal rates".

Normally, this means you have to call in and talk to a sales person who tries hard to sell you a crappy rate unless you hold firm for a while and then you get an OK rate.

Anyway, I was prepared for that. But I called in and...there are no CSRs available during normal working hours. Hmmm...I know, Coronavirus.

Anyway, I go back to the website and hit the "Cancel" button for my subscription. Normally, all this does is give you a popup about how you can call them to cancel.

But this time, it brought up a page saying "before you go, how about one of these offers...?"

And the offers were:

$30 for 6 months SIrusXM Select
$60 for 12 months SiriusXM Select
$100 for 12 months SiriusXM All Access

I picked the $60 deal. It came to $72 with taxes and fees. I was done in 30 seconds.

(All Access gives you more sports and Howard Stern, in case you're wondering).

Very happy not to have had to talk to a CSR.

**Edit** NM found it. Had to goto Help and Support to cancel the account and it's found in that drop down box.

Where do you go to cancel?
I dont have the cancel option in the drop down box - you had the option?

This worked for me, thanks! With the licensing fee, it was $65 for a year. I used my Chase Freedom card, which is offering 5% cash back on streaming services (including SiriusXM) this quarter.

I'd rather not have to do it, but don't really care. I do the same thing with every service.
By definition, if you'd rather not do something... you _do_ care.

I used to use one of my CCs that had 5% cash back, but one year I missed the expiration date and the automatic renew got charged. Something like $250. Ever since then I use either a card that expires before the year or a virtual card.

Now I use privacy.com and create a virtual card for Sirius with limit of $100 a year. Missing out on 5% cash back on a $60 charge is not worth it.

So if we are all stuck in our homes for another month or two, they should give those months for free as we are not able to listen.
There was another option in my drop-down box. "Suspend my account for 3 months."

Considering most people use in car and most people aren't commuting, they are probably worried about losing people forever.
They were going to lose me forever. I have 2 cars so I had to call every 6 months to get the decent renewal price. Even when it went smooth, I hated hated hated making that phone call.
Our Virgin Mobile cell phone plan just got transferred to Boost, and Boost does not count music streaming services against your data plan. So I was going to drop Sirius and just stream Pandora to my car radio via bluetooth.

Like a car dealer showroom---when a customer leaves they are never coming back.

My subscription was up in a month. This worked for me and even gave me a credit for the month I have left. Thanks OP!

I stream in home all the time. Through Alexa, the TV, on my phone outside. At $60 for a year with no hassle, this is a bargain for me.

Wow they bury the cancel option.
How to get to cancel screen
Log in
Choose chat window (lower right pop up box)
Type how do I cancel
Virtual chat should respond with a link that takes you to the screen with option to cancel

Does Select include online/app access? Seems like in the past it didn't but maybe that's changed.
