Sirius SiriusXM : Renew for $30/6 months or $60/year without having to call up

So this is new...

I went to my SiriusXM account. It was about to expire tomorrow, and I didn't want to pay their ridiculous "normal rates".

Normally, this means you have to call in and talk to a sales person who tries hard to sell you a crappy rate unless you hold firm for a while and then you get an OK rate.

Anyway, I was prepared for that. But I called in and...there are no CSRs available during normal working hours. Hmmm...I know, Coronavirus.

Anyway, I go back to the website and hit the "Cancel" button for my subscription. Normally, all this does is give you a popup about how you can call them to cancel.

But this time, it brought up a page saying "before you go, how about one of these offers...?"

And the offers were:

$30 for 6 months SIrusXM Select
$60 for 12 months SiriusXM Select
$100 for 12 months SiriusXM All Access

I picked the $60 deal. It came to $72 with taxes and fees. I was done in 30 seconds.

(All Access gives you more sports and Howard Stern, in case you're wondering).

Very happy not to have had to talk to a CSR.

So if we are all stuck in our homes for another month or two, they should give those months for free as we are not able to listen.
Not all of us are stuck in or our homes. There's a lot of us that still have to work.

anyone know how I can do this for 2 cars? Do i need to create 2 separate accounts?

TIA
I just did this for my two cars with no problems. Cancel the one that most recently renewed first. They will give you a credit for the remainder of the subscription you are canceling. I did this backwards and canceled the one that was set to renew in June then canceled the one that had just renewed in January.

I only got a $27 credit when canceling the one that was to renew in June and had to pay $50 for the renewal on the $60 plan. I got a credit of $225 on the second since it had just renewed at full price in January. I wound up with a credit of $125 on my account after canceling and agreeing to the $99 deal on the second. If I would have done the second vehicle first, I would still have a credit of $75 on the account and would not have paid anything out of pocket today.

The best part of this deal is not having to waste the 30 minutes on the phone! Two thumbs up!

By definition, if you'd rather not do something... you _do_ care.
Perhaps you missed the operative word "really." It isn't that much of a hassle to me (I've never experienced a rep that couldn't get it done quickly) but as I said, I'd rather not have to do it. Compared to some other things in life that I do really care about (like being locked in my damn house), it ain't so bad.

Pro move is to buy $100 worth of Xm Radio cards at Best Buy ( using your discounts and gift cards of course), add $100 to your XM account. When your expiration time is near (like 2 days before the expiration, Call and say all ya got is $100 in the account and you want a year of all access for $100 all in (includes taxes and fees). Boom. They got the money, you got a year for $100. Been doing this for years.
I paid $500 for unlimited lifetiime when Howard first moved to satellite. I forgot how many years ago that was.

Smart move. I believe you can transfer for it too. Maybe once??

I bought a portable XM radio off of Ebay for $60 with Lifetime during Howard announcing last contract extention. Still going strong but can't make changes to that ID number hence having another account for my Dad in his car (so I get app/online content). Have had it for 5 years now.

In the fall I signed up for 1 year of Sirius and the deal I got was $60/year. At the time I had streaming but lost it when I got the new deal. Guess I have to wait for my subscription to end to try to get streaming to my deal. Not worth the extra they're asking for it.

You may be able to cancel early (and get a proportional refund), then sign up with the better deal. At least, some of the previous posters have suggested they've done that.

So once you submit and get to the "Request Has Been Submitted" do they make the change immediately (didn't see anything) or does someone contact you?

Just got my renewal notice for $320.32 (Damn) and hopefully I'll be able to get the $60 annual. rate.

I've had Sirius / XM off and on over the years its a good service but not without its drawbacks. Personally its the quirks like the way the market it saying hundreds of channels which really are either duplicates or only on for part of day, but the most annoying aspect is that this is a PAID service which some channels have ALOT of commericals if they're advertising the subscription rate should reflect that I don't like paying for their double dipping but that's just me.

No sure why, but I don't see the option that you all mentioned. I do see the option to cancel my subscription in the drop down after I log into my account, but all it does is give me a pop up to either transfer my subscription to another device, or to open chat window. What am I missing here?

I think you have to go to "Help and Support" to cancel service

Anyone able to got them to waive the "US music royalty fee" over the chat? Or do you have to call?

I am interested in the 1 year all access for 99 bucks, and is this the cheapest you ever seen or one of the cheaper ones? Before I can only do half year and had to stay on the phone for a long time.
