Walmart has the 65" dumb TV for $349.99. Lowest price that I have seen so far. (Previously $379.99).

This is for those of you who don't want to buy televisions that require software updates, inject ads into your viewing experience, and send your voice recordings to third parties.

If all you want is a screen, this is the most affordable option for the size outside of a projector.

Honestly, would you expect anything better from a 65" $350 TV?
I've had this TV for 10 months or so now and so far so good. I love it. There aren't many "dumb TVs" even on the market anymore which has always bothered me. I have always thought they should leave the smart stuff to whatever device you plug in to it. Not only is this just a simple display, it's a really decent one that is pretty regularly offered at an amazing price.

My only complaint is the built in audio isn't very good, pretty tinny and I'm not even really an audiophile. I got a soundbar with ARC and love it. The TV has an ARC HDMI port so whatever input is currently being displayed will automatically output to whatever ARC enabled speaker setup you plug in to that port.

I find myself recommending this TV often.
I bought a refurbished (!) 50" Sceptre about 10 years ago. I gave it to my parents about 4 years ago and it's still running strong surprisingly.

Sometimes when there's less bells and whistles, there's less things that can go wrong with it.

Would this be a good gaming TV to replace a 40" TCL I got for prime day 2015? Also to bring it outside when lock down is over since it's only $235 for the 55"?

While they're not a tier 1 manufacturer, and not this particular model, this brand has been pretty well reviewed. I'd expect it to last a while.

I bought the 55" just over a year ago for a bucks more. I don't use it every day, but I have it mounted and it has been great. Play a few games, watch a few videos, and sometimes use it as a secondary screen for my computer. Have been overall pleased so far.

I ordered mine September of 2017, and it is still going fine. I did break the battery door for the remote though. Good enough for me. Costco has a 65" lg for $479 until 4/5 that I really like because of alexa and apple air play.
