Same model but with a 2060 was $920 at Best Buy a few days ago. $830 open box excellent. Though I guess it had the Ryzen 5... so trade off there.

Yep. There's a newer version (can pre-order, think it says it'll be out in a couple of weeks) that has the newer CPU, 1TB SSD, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, and larger battery as well. Is $1100.

Can't pre-order on Newegg right now but here's the listing for it:

I got in on the preorder deal on this laptop but Amazon's saying they don't expect to have it in their hands till 04/27/20... If I find it shipping sooner somewhere else I will order from them and cancel Amazon order.

Do not buy. Do not buy. Do not buy. Do not buy.

Buy a laptop with 4th gen ryzen instead. It is very similar in price and is like 50% faster.

Yeah, agreeing with the other posts here - decently specced 4th-gen Ryzen mobile chips are out for around $999, so this isn't really a good deal anymore. Maybe around $700?

does anyone know if the new Asus TUF with Ryzen 4000 have USB-PD on the USB-C port? the newegg link says it does, but the ASUS specs page doesn't list it

Don't quote me on this - but I vaguely remember watching a review of the new one and someone mention that it did charge, but not at enough power to be able to game on it. I think it was limited to like 65W and the main brick is up to like 130W or something.

I think enjaneer's point was there are 9750H deals out there with a similar spec for less. The volume of 9750H in newer laptops have caused the prices on those laptops to go down whereas the AMD equipped models have not. Just my two cents, but I find better value in the 9th gen i7 vs the last gen Ryzen.
