Title should be corrected: TCL - 50" Class - LED - 4 Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR - Roku TV

Yup, I ordered it at this price last week from Amazon. While looking, I saw Walmart had it for $10 cheaper (not sure if they still do).

My 2017 version of this TV just blew the power supply. I ordered this TV from amazon then looked to see how much a power supply actually cost. Found one for $20 and will be replacing it when it comes in. I'd recommend an extended warranty if you're not handy.

Do you feel it's worth it at this price? I'm considering it to upgrade a 42" 1080p

I do, but id consider the 4 year extended warranty for another $36. Is it a stellar TV? no. Is it good enough to watch the morning news on? yes.

I'm personally waiting for the 50" 5 series instead.

I tried the 43" version expecting it to be good based on specs but ultimately it doesn't fit the bill for a monitor. There is something in the pixel matrix that makes images and text have an artifact.

I just bought the 5 series 43" version of this tv specifically to use as a video editing/ gaming monitor. The picture quality is good for the price. The refresh rate is 60hz which is fine for my use. Some hardcore gamers prefer to game above 120hz though. My only negative about this tv has to do partly with size and viewing angles up close. I usually sit about an arms length away from my monitor and this is a bit overwhelming at this distance. Other than that, this tv is a steal for the price tag.

Depending on how big your desk is, either 43 or 50" at 4K is perfect for desktop computer usage.

43" 4K is around 101 DPI, so equivalent to 23" 1080p.
50" 4K is around 88 DPI, so equivalent to 27" 1080p.

You also need to account for the depth of your table. Sit too close and you'll have to move your head to see the sides of the monitor, which strains your neck.

I personally have a 43" TCL 4 series paired up with a 23" 1080P IPS in portrait mode on the side. Works perfectly for my needs and can game on it too, just not competitively. CS:GO at 4K 43" gives you vertigo because it's so big.

Make sure you have a beefy enough video card to drive it though. Anything GT1030 or above should be fine (as long as you have an HDMI 2.0 output).
