This specific model does not run on batteries. It plugs into the wall outlet.
I bought one of these on one of the previous deals. If any parts are damaged or missing, you can contact them and they'll send you new parts with no hassle. We had a Dyson refurb from 2007ish that this one replaced. Very satisfied with the way the first one lasted and so far this one has been great.

These require batteries and don't plug into the wall, right? If so don't understand Dyson's initiative to relying on disposable (eventually) batteries opposed to wall outlet that doesn't have any impact on the environment.

Nice. Thanks. I recall seeing a commercial where the founder stated all of there vacuums are going to be battery operated; guess I misunderstood the context or details.

I have a 13 year old purple animal (non-ball) and it's been leaving streaks in the carpet for a long time.... Misses about 20% on every pass....and I have to go back over and over. Is this a much better unit?

The reviews seem to suggest this is a good unit, plus it comes with extra attachments. This was a very popular previous deal as well. Lots of important comments on the prior deal thread

I got one of these during the last deal and it works very well. I also have a V8 animal and the ball picks up a lot more. After using the stick vacuum for a couple years, it's nice to have the power of the old plug in again.

Also I think this should note this is the smaller version and not the full size, I believe?

What's the difference between this (the Dyson Ball Animal) and the new model, the Dyson Ball Animal 2?
