There's an odd spike in these kitchenaid deals lately. Maybe stores are seeing this as a good time to sell for social distancing.

We have this mixer and my wife does NOT like it as it does not have the raise/tilt feature, it is fixed.
Only the bowl goes up and down and she finds this a handicap and not practical.
We are looking for another and more practical mixer.

I wish Costco carried the DC powered mixers such as the Pro-Line or Pro 6500. I want the mill attachment and the AC powered mixers don't cut it for that.

This bowl-lift mixer is both more powerful and stable than the tilt head mixers, which are more inclined to break and wobble.

That said this is a 6 quart mixer and good for making bread and big recipes. As others have mentioned in the past sometimes with smaller batches this bowl is so big the ingredients don't mix around too well.

Weird timing, as I was literally just looking at bowl lift models to replace our Artisan an hour ago.

This Costco model is 6qt and 590 watts. Comes with a flex paddle.

The KA Pro Line 7 qt is listed at 1.3 HP which is about 950 watts (someone more versed correct me if wrong) and comes with paddle, dough hooks and wire whip. Is on sale for $499 direct from KA [kitchenaid.com].

How much better is the 7qt model?

I just bought this regular price a week ago was going crazy in quarantine needed something to do, can say I love it. For single person it's probably too much but I bake for 4 and some times more and it sure beats the crap out of any mixer I had before (including my artisan 90th anniversary edition I gave to my mom a month ago). I have made the usual crusts, cookies, bread and flour tortilla masa and it takes it like a champ. Also for those that don't feel it works well for small batch I feel it does fine a made a small batch of icing (one cup powdered sugar, one tbsp of milk) the newer mixers have the slow start option and you can adjust where the beater sits(how close it is to scraping the bowl) and does wonderfully once adjusted. Now the only thing it took me maybe 5 times to get used to was putting the bowl in as I missed the lock and then the bowl rattled like a fish out of water but now it's second nature. Only attachments. Use are the shredder and pasta maker which this handles just fine need to get a new ice cream maker as the one I have does not fit my new mixer Frown. Oh and if anyone else recently bought this don't forget you can get a price adjustment!

Does the costco model come with a dough hook? I couldn't find it anywhere in the description, so assuming not.

I am looking at buying a mixer pretty much only to knead dough for pizza and breads. Is this a good mixer for that?

The pictures are inconsistent color to color. The black shows them for instance. The user manual linked shows it comes with it. (I'll return it if it doesn't!)

Mine did when I bought it a year ago, and it seems to be the same model number and everything.

Yes, I use it for 2-3 loaves worth of dough and it kneads it well. At first, it sounded like it struggled a little bit from time to time but I don't notice it anymore.

Need an artisan 5 series to go sub 200 as ours motor is about to go the way of the dodo. My partner hates these lift bowl versions. Personal preference of course.

Yes, I've been eyeing the 7qt 1.3hp DC models refurbished on ebay for $400. There is a 10% off refurbished home goods atm. Code "REFURB10" brings it down to $360 (code for select accounts only)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/123948847286

I recently bought the 5qt tilt head with glass bowl for $180 and is very nice but struggles for some bread especially if over 4-5 cups of flour.

We just bought this a couple weeks ago from in store stock. The advanced details on site say this and yes, it had all this: "Burnished metal flat beater, PowerKnead™ spiral dough hook and professional-style wire whip will help you mix, knead and whip ingredients into culinary masterpieces quickly and easily."

So far so good. It's been used quite a lot in the past couple of weeks! Harrisburg store had only red and silver, site also lists black, fwiw.

I can concur it has all of the above is correct. My store only had black and silver when I went to the one in Reno NV.
