  1. Open or Download CVS App (ios or android [cvs.com])
  2. Sign into or register [cvs.com] for CVS account
  3. Sign into, register or link [cvs.com] your Extracare Rewards
  4. 40% Off One Regular Priced Item should appear under "Deals and Rewards" on home page of app (mine appeared on top, but I already had app installed) - YMMV on 40% offer, may just be for select customers
  5. Click "Send to card"
  6. Add choice of full price item to cart (exclusions may apply), shop in store, or see instructions below for free shipping on select items via Carepass [cvs.com] (look for marked qualifying items). Otherwise, shipping starts at $5.95 or is free on orders over $35
  7. If you got the coupon, you may need to re-link your extra care rewards to get the coupon to apply at checkout
Also available:

CVS offers $10 Instant Reward for Joining their Carepass Membership for $5 when you follow instructions below. Shipping is free on eligible Carepass items.
  1. Click here [cvs.com] to start your signup and sign up to join Carepass (may not be available in all areas)
  2. Enter zip code
  3. Sign in or create your CVS account
  4. If you do not have a CVS account, you will need to sign up for the ExtraCare Card (free to sign-up)
    • Note, if you had to sign up for ExtraCare card, click "continue" on confirm page
  5. Under "How would you like to pay" Select the MONTHLY Option
  6. Total will be $5 + Earn your first $10 reward in minutes (shows in your CVS account & at checkout, click "apply") + free shipping on eligible Carepass items [cvs.com] (items are marked)
    • Note: Terms [cvs.com] say it may take 48-72 hours to appear, but should be near instant

I received a 35% off via email a few days and the standard 4 off 20 today. Already had app installed.

These coupons are pretty routine - usually 30% flat (everything you buy except all the exceptions which includes sale items and of course everything is on some sort of sale) or 40% but that is usually just 1 item. Expirations are usually short too - say 4-6 days.

Interesting. I have been on the app for a while now and this is my first 40%. Granted, I am not a drugstore pro (or even a rookie, for that matter)- so, I definitely would not have been able to track their frequency, or know how they push their offers. But last time I got a 40% offer was 10/1/2018, and I posted it on SD. Other than photo coupons, and one other thread since then, also ymmv- I see nothing.

I get them maybe once a month. Usually notified via email. The catch is it can't be an item on sale and as I said it seems everything is on some sort of sale or another.

40% off CVS MSRP pricing is like 10% elsewhere. CVS is not SD friendly IMHO.

Their 40% off will bring the item to regular price.

Fair enough. There will be some good deals but not many in my experience. CVS' best pricing is on alcohol due to their buying power.

I agree that their pricing is pretty outrageous, but I've been able to skirt around them and I get 90% of my makeup from CVS for mere pennies. It does occasionally require about $20 or so to build them back up, but it's rare.

One option for when you run out of bucks and don't have any great coupons to use is to wait for your Carepass to renew. That's $10/month. CarePass is a MUST have. You're literally throwing money away if you shop cvs online and don't have carepass.

I'm on a very limited income due to disabilities, but I've still managed to land myself in the top 1% of my state. I play CVS like a game lol.

for the low low price of privacy raping via app. Hard pass.

I especially detest printed coupons for the things I just bought that expire before I could need them again.

Combine coupons if possible.

You can only use one manufacturer coupon per item, but CVS allows multiple store coupons per transaction as long as none explicitly state otherwise, even more than one of the same type of CVS coupons, including: Two $3 off $15 coupons for purchases that are $30 or higher unless otherwise stated
