Do plan on canceling Verizon? I've heard you can buy the phone at the promo pricing and then call Verizon to cancel so you wont charge a activation fee, that's what I wanna do

got phone..the $0 plan bestbuy showed me was a glitch. They ended up putting me on $90 plan.
They do have a 14-day worry-free guarantee. I called to cancel, they were gonna bill me the full $90, but once i brought up the 14day, he cancelled for what seems like a full refund, will wait to confirm

wonder why the other G Power thread gets no love... an obvious better deal than the recent HSN $100 G7 Optimo Maxx deal imho. unlocked in the first place, way better specs, same price. equivalent hassle (contact Verizon for cancellation versus contact Tracfone for unlock after 1 year)

I have the G Power and I like it better than the G Stylus simply because you cannot take photos with the ultra-wide lens in the Stylus. Plus, the stylus is no better than one of those cheap clicker pens with a rubber tip. Then you also lose out on the battery size. The only thing that is better but not by much is the main shooter that takes better photos in low light mode.

Got on this deal twice - but only canceled one line.

First phone I put in SIM card and there was no phone number. It wanted me to go through the online activation process. Seems Best Buy never activated the SIM with a number. But just to be safe I called up Verizon and checked if I have an account with them. They checked and couldn't find anything. They said if the SIM doesn't have a phone number there's no account - so nothing to cancel.

Since I was going to go through the hassle of canceling anyways I thought I would get a second phone - really did want 2 to begin with. But this time Best Buy did activate the SIM with a phone number. Called up Verizon again and canceled. They said there would be a little prorated charge but no activation fee since they aren't charging anyone that at the the moment.

So 2 phones for 300+tax seems pretty good.
But I'm definitely calling Verizon back in a few days again just to be doubly sure everything is canceled.

How did activation fees go for you guys? I'm seeing the full $40 on Best Buy...did Verizon simply waive it after calling in, or was it waived automatically? Makes a pretty big difference.

Immediate cancellation and keeping phone seems kinda risky from their terms.

From Verizon's site: "Cancellation
You can cancel a line of Service within 14 days of accepting this Agreement without having to pay an early termination fee as long as you return, within the applicable return period, any equipment you purchased from us or one of our authorized retailers at a discount in connection with your acceptance of this Agreement, but you'll still have to pay for your Service through that date.

My credit application keeps getting declined. Anyone else have this issue? I even called Verizon's credit department and apparently they cleared it but it still did not work.

I only see $150 if you activate with Sprint. I did this a year ago for the pixel 3a with Sprint and it was a real pain in the ass to cancel service.

Sprint's customer service is a freaking abomination.
