Same comment from the other thread. In case you miss my comment, others will share the same. LG honors warranty and I didn't have any issues two years ago requesting a repair

How does one on the east coast get this deal? Looks like they do not do online shopping. Phone call or email?

There seems to be a split on LG honoring the warranty if bought from unauthorized dealers where as other ppl seem successful.

If you dont mind, how did tou get them to honor the warranty? I am looking to purchase a tv soon but conflicted if I should buy from an authorized dealer and pay more or buy from an unauthorized dealer to save a few bucks.

Phone call only. No tax either since you're on out of state and you're responsible for handling shipping, they don't get involved with that for liability reasons.

All in all still a good deal. I'm torn about getting the E9 for $2k (deal was around and hopefully is back again) vs $2750 for GX

NEW TVs come out every year so would rather get the E9 for 2k and "pocket" the $750 towards the next tv

Do you have the name of the shipping company used for delivery and the cost?

Yes, the split is:

People who actually read the warranty and know for a fact it doesn't care who the dealer is and everyone gets the full year of warranty

and

Idiots who disagree with this fact you can literally read for yourself by reading the actual warranty- and instead point to things that are not the actual warranty to support their factually wrong argument.

Sadly that second group shows up in virtually every LG TV thread on here- going back at least 4-5 years now and has to be corrected every time. They never seem to learn though.

That ONE reddit link you provide, with ONE guy saying they didn't' honor it, is the only example anyone ever provides of an owning claiming they would not honor it.

And it's been debunked repeatedly by pointing out the very next post the same guy made on reddit was him thanking someone for giving him the correct directions to actually register his warranty.

I just gave my serial number and they setup an in-home appointment. No receipt was even requested. LG honors warranty based on my experience and including many other members throughout the years

I called their warranty department in the last 10 days to place a *fake* warranty claim and the LG rep said they may not honor it if I had A) purchased it from an unauthorized dealer and B) the set they sold me had been previously bought/sold, pushing me outside the warranty period. Just passing along what I was told by an actual LG rep.

Uh... obviously you wouldn't be covered if the set had previously been bought/sold at retail

Used televisions don't generally come with a warranty.

But as already explained to you (in several previous threads) simply buying from an unauthorized dealer makes no difference of any kind to the actual warranty since that's the first retail sale of the set. (there's no business model under which someone could buy at RETAIL, then somehow sell the sets in bulk for LESS than retail, and turn a profit- which is why the legit unauthorized guys are mostly just drop shipping you TVs from distributors while taking a cut of the price difference and letting the distributor sell for below MAP without running afoul of MAP rules)

You can tell by reading the actual warranty

Pulled the plug on 65" GX TV. Got it for $25 less than the Newegg price. It's from an authorized retailer. Waiting for it to be shipped....
