First post, please be gentle. I couldn't find this posted anywhere.

This 2-pack of Honeywell Z-wave switches seems like a good deal. They are also made by Jasco and are supposed to be identical to the GE (Jasco) switches.
https://www.costco.com/honeywell-...79237.html

There is a bundle of a smart switch and an add-on switch (for the other location in 2-way, 3-way, etc applications) for $43.99.
https://www.costco.com/honeywell-...79322.html

Also smart switch and smart fan control for $59.99.

The Jasco switches are garbage. I have had 15 of them in my house and 5 of them have broken. Jasco replaced the first 3 but refused to replace the next 2 that broke. Having to replace 1/3 of my switches withing 3 years is a big waste.

It says it needs hub. Do they work with smart things hub?

Yes they'll work with SmartThings, that's what I use.

I don't need any right now but good to know Costco is carrying these now! I have 21 GE-branded Z-Wave switches throughout my home right now of various flavors (on/off, dimmers, motion) and really like them. had some of them for years now and everyone in a while do a couple more rooms.

I've always seem these Honeywell are the same Jasco ones, but the GE ones were the only ones I ever caught on sale.

I spent 3 months 3 years ago replacing most of the switches in my house to the Jasco/GE/Honeywell switches. I have 40+ total switches and have roughly 15 fail over the last 3 years. They fail at random times, half of them failed after some random power outage. Some would just start blinking blue. Others would fail catastrophically and I would have to pull the air gap. I really don't want more switches on a WiFi network as they would theoretically cause some interference and zigbee switches from what I have learned are not much better. I have also tried the newer versions (jasco/ge/Honeywell)as I would order the same switch for a direct replacement. They too have failed. I am now trying the invoelli and hope they are a bit better. I just ordered my first six, three dimmer three standard with relay. Great price, love Costco but I would not recommend.

That is a bummer. My experience is different. I have about thirty of them, some of them going back to 2016. I've never had one fail.

ZooZ is cheaper and better, especially saving on 3-way add on

I have several of the GE/Jasco. No failures. Might pick some up from Costco for easy exchanges if they do ever fail.

As another data point, I have 12 of the GE branded switches+motion switches since 2017, 2 failed within 2 years out of warranty after brief power outage which I had to replace myself.

You can use a custom device handler with the newer ones (non-gen 1) to allow 2 scene controls (double click up, and double click down only).

This is not a deal. Go innovelli or Zooz for more options like dimming, scene control, ease of 3 way install etc.

These are a much better quality switch than innovelli or Zooz. I've had many of these for years and have never had a problem. I would buy these all day long.

this is a deal. good price for the product itself. if you bring another product to the table. then say "not a good product" instead of "deal".

Absolutely agree. Spend a little more and get way more functionality with Inovelli and avoid paying for add-on switches.

In terms of quality and another data point - I have 10 of these since 2017 and none has failed so far (knock on wood). Overall, I like them but several family members struggle with how to use them. You have to single click for on or off, and hold to dim. Some of guests and other family members tend to hold to turn off (which only dims until almost off). Otherwise all good.

$25 for a z wave switch with lacking features not a good deal.

Is that better for you?
