AAA covers motorcycles with an add-on endorsement. $40 additional and gives you 4 additional service calls for the motorcycle (or an RV, same category).
good to know; i'll check into it the next time i run across a free aaa membership. ama is $50/yr or less for both car/bike.

Not seeing 50% off in CA Is there a discount code for this offer?
After I entered my zip there was a advert/link near the bottom of the page for the offer. I was only able to sign up for the classic and can upgrade to plus or premier after 90 days. Not sure how much that will cost.

Most cars come with roadside assistance from the manufacturer, and most insurers have roadside assistance available for a very minimal fee (under $10/six-months). So what's the purpose of AAA these days?
Sorry my family has two cars from 2003 that we still drive and rely on AAA about 4 times a year between the two cars. I'd say the purpose is CRUCIAL

Let me check my 2003 Impala and see where that manufacturer roadside assistance is...

I'm guessing because not as many people are driving and traveling right now, they are hurting for memberships.
Plus their offices are closed, so no income there.

And their offices are closed so you're not getting any of the other benefits like skipping DMV lines.

Maybe it's regional, but in my area the majority of the tow trucks you see on the road are AAA afilliated. Last time I needed to call, it was 8 am during the week and they showed up in 10 minutes. If I had to wait for a Geico or State Farm contractor, who knows?

I like them for the DMV services too. Their people are courteous, competent and you don't have to wait in line for hours. The exact opposite of the State run DMV.

Most people on SD don't buy new cars. I have credit cards with towing and roadside. AAA gives longer range towing and for what it's worth these days, hotel discounts and stuff like that.
Where you get this stat? Or are you making an assumption based on people on slickdeals looking for used car "deals"?

Great deal! We have the family Plus Plan and it is so much better than any roadside assistance program from car manufacturers. When my wife had a flat tire, they first made sure she was safe, then they got her something to drink while the tow was being arranged. Their battery service is excellent and fairly priced also. My 1998 Z3 needed 3 tows last year, all over 50 miles, included. Just for their friendly service and knowing that when you call a nice person will be on the phone with you quick is worth the piece of mind. Get one for any kid you have that drives. Go with the Plus though, once we had ours towed 90 miles back home from San Diego so we could get the car repaired near home. Easy.

It was probably their assumption as new cars are one of the worst investments anyone can make. Go 3 years old minimum and preferably oder than that. Slick Deals is about spending less. So that would potentially mean they are buying older cars to save money.
