If you are a member of one state then will the benefits work when you are in a different state or locality
Yes. It's a little tricky with towing, depending on what one you choose. You may not have enough towing to get home, you might have to get towed to a shop or something.

Most cars come with roadside assistance from the manufacturer, and most insurers have roadside assistance available for a very minimal fee (under $10/six-months). So what's the purpose of AAA these days?
Great travel discounts hotels and rental cars
Free credit monitoring with free identity theft protection
Goodrx
Shell gas discounts
Free discount book at tanger outlet.
And many more discounts on their app.

My Aaa membership pays for itself every year. I don't think twice renewing the membership.

I've had AAA for years and was thinking about dropping it.

They used to have the best insurance rates in my state (New Jersey), and the savings pretty much paid for the annual membership fee. AAA insurance premiums have escalated though, and once I drop them as my insurer I don't see much point in keeping the membership.

I haven't used roadside assistance in a long time and there are much cheaper ways to get that coverage.

Making me pay full price on renewal while handing out 50% discounts to everyone else is pretty much the last straw.

Will this work on renewing next year or they will go back to regular pricing?

AAA Plus offers 4 tows of up to 100 miles, AAA Premier offers 3 tows of up to 100 miles, and one tow of up to 200 miles. Try that with your factory roadside assistance or car insurance plan and let me know how it works out for you (hint: coverage is only to the nearest repair shop or up to 15 miles, then $4-5/mi after that). You can also add on an RV or motorcycle for only like $40/yr for those same coverages, and you get 4 additional service calls permitted. The member is covered in whatever car they're in, not just their own.

Keep in mind too that AAA has DMV services (so you don't have to step foot in that God forsaken place), travel agent services, discounts at retailers nationwide, and more included in the membership.

I've been a long time member and the towing alone is worth it as I've had to have been towed some pretty far distances. Recently got a blowout on the way home to San Diego from Vegas and with my new Honda Civic it only comes with a can of fix-a-flat, no spare. Rather than get towed to the nearest CLOSED service shop in BFE (this was at like 10pm), I was was able to have the car towed all the way home. That alone would have been like a $500 tow. I guess it depends on your driving distance habits among other things, but I feel that it's good peace of mind and don't mind paying a few extra dollars compared to just having Geico roadside assistance.
I had AAA Plus for years until I actually tried to use it. My car broke down at 5 am the day after a snow storm. I had forgotten my phone so had to trudge 1.5 miles to the nearest exit and call from a gas station to call AAA. When I get them on the phone they inform me they werent towing as yesterday was busy, despite my objections they said their t&c's give them the right to not provide services. I hadnt required any AAA services for at least three years prior.
