While amazon still has this stuck at $600, Walmart rolled back to $549.99 with free quick shipping. this appears to be the best version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYQlHA9u8Ic and see other comparisons online)

Not a slick deal IMO but great to see that Walmart is starting to sell Roborock. Might get more price competition now since Amazon was previously the only authorized seller in the US.

The problem with purchasing a Roborock from any place other than their Amazon store is the lack of warranty support from Roborock. Their warranty states the seller is responsible. I would not trust Walmart to hand me back correct change - nevermind process a warranty issue properly and promptly.

And it been this price at Walmart for over a month. I called Roborock when I first noticed it for less than Amazon and after they confirmed no warranty support, they also said its lower in price for that reason.

Would purchasing with an AMEX card deal with, by getting the warranty extended? Or is it not extended if they do not offer their warranty at all?

This is interesting to me-- if you go to the Roborock product page for the S5 Max, click "Purchase Now" you'll get links for both Amazon and Walmart. Of course just like you said the warranty page is pretty specific about "This Limited Warranty applies only to new products purchased at US Amazon's official stores (Roborock Technology Co. Ltd Store),"

So why are they pushing the Walmart listing? is this a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is up to?

Regardless if I were OK to pay full price I might be inclined to buy the Walmart at $549.99 with a 3 year add-on protection plan at $58. That's just $8 more than the full price on Amazon and gets you 3 years of coverage instead of 1 year from Roborock's Amazon listing.
My experience with Walmart protection is they will take care of you.

Asked them the exact same thing. "Why are you promoting purchasing from Walmart....with a link (no less) ...when you do not support the warranty?" Didn't really get much of an answer on that. They deflected and focused on encouraging a purchase from their Amazon store.

When i was considering purchasing from Walmart there was no extended warranty option on the web page. Have they added it? Since I did not have that option I assumed Walmart did not want to offer one on the Roborock.

As far as a basic warranty through the seller, I simply do not trust Walmart to honor a repair in anything resembling a timely manner (like say ...10 days). That's on me. Maybe they will. But not going to test that. Would rather have the option to escalate an issue with a warranty repair that Roborock is dragging their feet on with Amazon.....since Amazon represents a main pipeline (in a more significant way than Walmart) for them to do business.

If someone is not choosy about who the seller is -I did see where gear*est had it on sale for under $500.00 with an American plug. Not for me... for the aforementioned warranty limitation.

Will wait on a sale through their Amazon store and may purchase an extended warranty to be safe.

Frankly at this point I'm waiting on U.S. release of the S6 MaxV (or T7) whatever they will end up calling it (and seeing a review that compares it to the S5 Max).

Add'l: (tangent) Just read a first review of the S6 MaxV (which has a camera to identify objects and can store multiple maps). It looks nice but no longer convinced it has features I like better than the S5 Max. No info regarding the mopping feature - like a change in mopping pattern - was covered. Unless it mops significantly better than the S5 Max... not impressed enough to pay more.

It has been my experience that Walmart will outright fully refund or replace the item but that was before Allstate took over the plans in late 2018, I haven't had to use one recently. That said, Walmart takes it pretty seriously so I imagine it's administered similarly. You can see all your protection plans on the Walmart website or app and file a claim directly from there. Anyway just sharing my experience.

My guess is that they haven't updated their warranty terms to include Walmart.

I wish you were right. I spoke to three different Roborock reps. One through their facebook site and two through their email support. Roborock does not warranty purchases through anyone other than their own Amazon store. Your warranty is with the seller and that includes WalMart.

Well, maybe it will change. Walmart a huge retailer. Would be foolish to not honor warranty for purchases made through them.

Really? I came away thinking I want the S6 MaxV. Unless your floors look like empty apartments of the people doing the reviews. My house always has random crap all over the place. Kids toys, wires, etc. Seems like the obstacle avoidance would go a long way towards being hands off?

I do not own one of these bots, however. Looking to get my first, which will be the S5 Max or the S6 MaxV.

The most difficult issue on the floor in my home are the chair and table legs. No toys. No wires. Both are tempting and the way I see it - If I can purchase the lesser priced one - if it doesn't work out , return it to get the other model.
