Not too new but one of the Chinese budget brands. Definitely one of the more budget value friendly options out there.

Personally, I'm hoping the 6 series TCL drop a little after doing research.

not bad. I paid $300 for my 5 series 49" in Dec 2018. Its still going strong. Roku is really amazing. The 4 and the 5 series are both pretty dim with not very good viewing angles. So not great in a big, bright room. But, better than my 2005 Vizio - so...

Got this TCL 49S405 49 inch Roku 4K TV 2 years ago. Paid around $280. Still works, no problems.

I bought one at Costco for this price and returned it because I thought it was too dim. What I didnt realize is that I dont use Roku tv and I have a 4k firestick. You have to go into the firestick settings and change the HDR setting to adaptive or else it will be really dim. But, I bought the 55inch 6 series and that thing was too much of a beast. Its so bright at night, its blinding. I returned the 6 series and went back to the 4 series. For the price and the lower power consumption. I felt better going with the 4 series.

We had a lightning strike last summer that fried 4 TV's. I replaced them all with TCLs, 3 X 6 series and one 4 series. I'm currently looking for a inexpensive 50-55" for another bedroom but I've read all over the internet that these TV's don't get bright enough. I think I'll hold out for a 5 series. The 6 series TV's are excellent.

Been considering getting a tv for an unused bedroom solely as a streamer. Don;t know that I need one this big though.

I thought it was dim because i used a firestick that had hdr on always and it made the picture super dim. When i changed it to hdr adaptive, it became bright again. I had the 6 series and unless you are super particular about brightness and hdr than it would be a better choice. But, for the price and lower power consumption. If you put the 4 series on brighter and bright hdr for gaming, i think it works good well lit rooms. Im happier with the four series because of the price and apparently it lasts longer

Same here the qled technology seems pretty attractive for the price point compared to Samsung. I think it's going to go down soon as well
