Over a third of the reviews on Amazon are 3 stars or less, mostly complaining it's built cheaply and breaks easily.
oh hey i've had this for about 1.5 years. got it from costco. DO NOT DROP THE PLASTIC PIECES!!! luckily costco took my old one, and i got a new one, for $100. honestly wouldn't you rather pay the $100 and get a new one from costco? anyhow yeah i love my food processor! Big Grin

You can always spend 400-500 on a breville.

The 14 cup is atk top choice, bought one a couple months back on Amazon for $99. Just amazed with its performance and would highly recommend. Or get one from Costco you can return when the plastic breaks. Sad that they make these things to break eventually, I guess that's just the consumer society we're in though. Plastic bowl is the weak link, but they will last quite awhile if you can refrain from washing in dishwasher and don't drop it.

It depends on how many you're cooking for, how many servings you make at a time, and how much counter/storage space you have. I've gotten along quite nicely, cooking mostly for 2-4, preparing a daily meal with enough for leftovers or the freezer, with dear counter and storage space, with their 2-3 cup chopper/grinder. On my second one after 12 years use. Does all I need. Get the metal base. Any bigger, gauge your needs, not someone else's. Spend the difference on good knives and cutting boards.

You need to watch their blades, too. The had a recall due to separation of some of the plastic blade housing. It's enough to allow food and bacteria to remain after cleaning; or to crack plastic into your food. Very rare occurrence. Cuisinart replaced the blade on my 10 year old mini-chopper a couple of years ago under the recall. Beat paying $15. Replaced with newer, slightly larger capacity last holidays. Around $25-$40 refurb or new. First one was under $15 refurb at Big Lots years ago. Still works w new blade, though somewhat tired. New one is great. I like the small ones.
