In my opinion a good deal; had ordered one last night from Amazon (same link) for $399. Came back today and saw the price is down the $276. Was able to cancel and reorder. This is for the higher end 2150 GPH, 0.75HP system, not the 1500 GPH, 0.5 HP one.

With staying at home, many of us are looking for things to do, and with summer coming, a pool is on top of many lists.

With this filter you no longer have to buy the paper filters and chlorine tablets, and depending on the size of your pool this can cause the salt water system / sand filter to pay back for itself within 1-3 seasons!

You will need to add 120 lb sand to the filter and salt (10% of the salt level in sea/ocean water) to the pool, both can be found for as low as ~$8 per 50lb bag.
  • Designed for use with above ground pools from 4, 800 to 15, 000 gallon capacity
  • 110-120V with GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter)
  • 16-inch Tank diameter; 0. 75 hp motor
  • Pump flow rate 2650 gph. System flow rate 2150 gph
  • Chlorine output: 11 g/hr.
  • 2-Year

If you have an intex pool, you will not believe the time and money this will end up saving you. Best investment period- also, add the intex vacuum robot and you will have very little maintenance overall.

Thanks! I just bought the 1500gph for $399! Gonna box it back up and return. Although, the one I bought was newer version with E.C.O... anyone have experience with the E.C.O system? Wondering if it's worth the +$100 difference in price. 🤔

It will work with any pool between 4,000 and 15,000 gallons as long as it has connectors for filter hoses. Most hoses are standard sizes, but you might need a nipple to change sizes.

I've seen it in use on intex, bestway, Coleman and summer waves pools.

I had an intex pool for 4+ years and did manual chlorine, it was a pain. I've had the salt system for a year now and it's been amazing.

However, the titanium plate in the salt system already needs to be replaced. It's about $60 if you buy it yourself, but the salt (standalone at least) has 2 years warranty so it's covered.

I'm wondering this also. The 2150 GPG FOR $279 versus $462, with difference being the e.c.o., makes me wonder why such a difference in price just for that. I went ahead and ordered the $279 one and have to refuse shipment on the $399 one coming or otherwise pay for return shipping and restocking fee. I have never refused a shipment before so I'm a little nervous.

Was it the salt+sand system or just salt?

This one's descriptions on Amazon and Intex site claim to be E.C.O. I don't know enough to say though.

If you have not tried a saltwater pool previously, you will love it. The maintenance is so much less expensive, less work, and feels better on the skin when swimming.

I just got an Intex 15'x48" pool and am about to set it up. I was thinking about salt water but I read reviews that people said it rusted their pool. Has anyone had this happen? If this doesn't cause rust, would it really save time and money?
