(Open Box/YMMV) LG - 77" OLED - C9 Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR $2699

Best Buy is showing the 77" LG OLED (Open Box - Satisfactory) for $2699. There might be similar deals for other open-box units as well - I haven't checked.

For anyone who missed the 50%-off deal, this is close to as good of a deal and you don't have to deal with calling in and asking for a special discount. YMMV as you need to find an open-box unit near you.

For a $1000 more I can get a brand new one. These open box TVs are like floor unit. They are missing the stand, remote etc. not worth it in my opinion

If its a floor unit, check for "burn in" on the screen. Most of these keep playing the same videos 24/7. Also, price might be negotiable if its a floor unit.

Ya agree. Not worth the risk for 1000. If you purchase geek squad warranty it costs 500 for 2 years so essentially the difference is 500 only.

Not really a fair comparison...you would need to compare the brand new in box with the 2 year Geek Squad warranty added

I bought an open box satisfactory floor unit from them last week, came with stand/remote/box, etc. Definitely ymmv so I'd recommend calling to see what's missing, they usually tell you this in the morning when calls are slow. My store even told me screen hours and scratches (if any).

I picked up an open box a couple weeks ago from BB for $2250. As with many others, it also came with a $200 gift card. Mine was a return that had approximately 400 hours on it. No burn in. One stuck pixel that pixel refresher remedied. I also bought the 5-year GS warranty for $500 after deciding to keep the TV. It was missing the original box and remote.

Pulled the trigger on a 65 inch for $1200 and put a five year geek squad warranty on it and came out to roughly $1600. I wanted a warranty with any OLED I purchased but that would have been well over $2500 at any retail store. I'll report back on the condition of the display.

I got a floor unit 65" C8 for $750 a year ago from wally world. Plenty of burn-in, but LG warrantied the panel anyway. I think the key was that the receipt did not explicitly say it was open box or floor model.

Still looks beautiful today!
