This is NOT a true food processor. Without a bowl to work in, you can't do many of the standard things a FP is used for (a combination of blending/mixing.) This is more of a slicer/shredder. It's also seriously overpriced for what it does, even with a big discount (IMO).

The picture shows the commercial version with dicing option which is not the one linked.

It's still on sale, and with coupon comes to a little over $112
Meh I don't see a real attraction in this unless you're the type where your stand mixer is always on your counter for storage. At this price point you can get a pretty nice standalone food processor.
I have this and have been very unhappy with performance. My dedicated processor slices and dives cleanly, but this thing hacks whatever I put into it. Also, it's really just a slicer as others have pointed out.

Other than torque, any reason why these are more practical than the standard appliance?

Probably because you can just put any size bowl you'd like under it. After looking at a lot of these I went with the breville as the whole thing can dice vs just a small area.

Can it make french fries? I'm thinking no, but "long thin strips of a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables or cheeses" could be a yes...

Long thin strips refers to julienne cut, that would make potato straws for hashbrowns but not fries. I suggest a mandolin to make fries, they are much more affordable too.

Does the coupon work for other items! Also does it take money off multiple items each or just off the total? Anyone know?

I am getting 123.xx after tax. The sale price is 149 so 25% off is 37.50. How are you getting $101?

I have to agree. This price point is in line with the sale price for the best-in-class consumer food processor, the Cuisinart 14 cup stainless model:

https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-...B01AXM4W3A

(talking about the commercial model indicated by the product picture, but the fact remains, even if you're comparing vs. the $80 one, you can spend $30 more on a decent sale and get this absolutely excellent standalone processor)

Love my kitchenaid mixer but I think a lot of the attachments are better off as standalone appliances.
