A little brighter, has Dolby Atmos sound, a lot of people don't like the Vizio smart tv and Android TV is pretty well received. A year newer model. $80 less.

Other than that, both quantum dot, both 90 zones local dimming, pretty similar TVs.

Some people want to wait for reviews to come out first. I'm wondering how many new 2020 models are going to make it here this year.

I would buy this at today's prices. I'd probably still take the show on the year newer model with a little extra brightness and Atmos sound at even pricing (I'd run a fire tv 4k on either one anyway). If the m558-g1 were cheaper (say $80 like te H8G is cheaper now) that would be the choice for me.
The Hisense H8G is currently the only TV sold in the US market that has both Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ support; other than that they are pretty similar.

Edit: After reading feedback post, it appears certain 2018 Vizio P Series & higher, and certain 2019 Vizio M7 series & higher did in fact add HDR10+ support with Firmware version 4.0.20.30. Thus, making the listed Vizio TVs and Hisense H8G the only TVs to support both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ in the US market.
Aren't most receivers HDMI now?

Wish there was an Rtings review out.

Anybody have any recent experiences with Walmart return policy on TVs? Will they let you return for dead pixels or bad uniformity? Or hell, just straight up.not liking it?

Ordered one and now having second thoughts. Am I better off getting a TCL R625 or Vizio M558?

Having the same dilemma. This TV tempts me because Hisense is getting better and better and its new set with HDMI 2.1 So some future proofing.. Rtings hasn't reviewed it yet, but most reviews Ive found on amazon or best buy.com are good.

Been researching the M558 and the R625 a lot.
Both reviews are good on RTINGs. I've been leaning towards TCL 2018 series actually because its said to be brighter I wanna game in HDR so read that looks better. The M558 is said to have better colors, but lower brightness. (Interestingly enough According to specs H8G is brighter than both at peak brightness of 700 nits.)

I was actually ready to pull the trigger on the 55" 2018 6 series at Coscto for $400 but it says: this item is out of stock in your area after I punch in my zip code and others around me. So now im tempted to go with this one.
