Stinks they're still pushing these bundles with the non octane batteries. Given that and the release of the high torque model I would say this is something to pass on.

Not long ago they had 2 octane batteries with this for $149.

I want this impact wrench but am waiting to see if the other deal mentioned by RugerRedhawk comes back.

I have the the impact wrench and use it with the 4.0 Ah non-Octane battery and it's a total beast. I've had the 6.0 Ah Octane battery for over a year and have yet to use it because there is no reason to. I've done TONS of work with the Impact wrench, replaced the entire front end suspension, drive and steering components on my Suzuki SX4 and it barely broke a sweat. Took off both axle nuts (drivers side took about 10-15 seconds to crack). There was not a nut or bolt it couldn't remove using the regular 4.0 Ah battery. In fact I sold the 9.0 Ah Octane battery because I figured I'd never really need it, I haven't even needed the 6.0 Ah Octane.

Don't procrastinate. Those deals might not come back for a year, if at all. This is a really good deal, I have the impact wrench and it is a beast, I love it.

I have the pre-brushless one and it's irreplaceable. We use it all the time working on vehicles and heavy equipment. I'm still amazed at the power they have, better than our air powered NAPA 1/2" impacts.

Anyone know return policy?

Hesitated last time. I could buy now and return if there's a better deal around Father's Day, but that's beyond 30 days.

HD return policy is now 180 days I believe.

It was $179 for the past two or three weeks, before that it was $150 for a while.

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago when they were on sale for $149. I think it's a great deal regardless of whether or not it's commonly on sale.

It should be noted though, that it does NOT come with an Octane battery. Without the Octane battery, it cannot go over 450 ft-lbs (nut busting). Now, for most home mechanics this is enough for virtually everything, but it is something you should know. So technically, the Home Depot page is wrong. With the battery they supply, you can't get more than 450 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque and about 300 ft-lbs of forward torque. Not the claimed nut busting 625 ft-lbs and 485 ft-lbs of forward torque you WOULD get with an Octane battery.

Well this is interesting.

Now wondering if the combo deal is better for $30 more.

For my use the 450 is plenty.
