I'd rather go with the Samsung Q70. Small differences but I'd rather stick with a smarter more reliable brand. They're also $999 at Best Buy:

The Samsung only has about 50 dimming zones vs 900 on the tcl though! I bought the TCL last time this deal popped up but might return it.

Q70 is slightly better in darker viewing (movies rating) and the r825 is slightly better in brighter viewing (tv shows rating) according to rtings

Hisense h9f does considerably better in brighter viewing than the tvs above if youre looking for something in the living room to view any time throughout the day

Why are you thinking of returning it?

Question. Last week, BB had the 75 inch for $ 1799.

Assuming it will drop to that again.

Is it worth that much more? $ 999 vs $ 1799.

I just bought the SM9000PUA yesterday. Does this TCL blow that LG out of the water?

this is the price this Tv should have been in the first place

I think this deal and the 75" deal( at a lower price than the last time ) will be coming again

I don't think these TCL 8 series are exactly flying off the shelves

The Sony 900F is a very good solid all around good panel in the same price range as well

With the economy not exactly making a V turn anytime soon there is no rush to buy @ this or any price.

You just hit the purchase button when you feel like it matches your need factor.

The price inevitably will be there tomorrow if not a couple $100s lower.

Stating the obvious but saw this in 2008-2012. America is on sale.

If you're looking for a great deal on that Q70 you mentioned (which has a 8.3 score on rtings)

Walmart (ships & sold by) has a tefurb on sale for $699.99 - you can get a 3 or 4 yr warranty as well, with the 3 year total cost is $839 shipped (could be more or less a few bucks depending upon where you live with taxes.

Agree. Not only should they have always been this price, we should be seeing discounts from that too. Bottom line - wait for more discounting or pass. Major driver behind that is also that this particular first-gen mini led model just wasn't top quality and suffered (still according to many others) black crush in a major way.

The fact that this went on sale for the same "sale" price only a week after the original sale is a tell that it didn't sell very well. I was watching this and considered buying it. Like others have said, I bet it gets lower. $800 and I'm in.
