I found a 2TB WD portable HDD at Walmart a few days ago for $45. Not too bad!

PLEASE NOTE* Walmart website will not show this price for $45, you must search for it on Brickseek to see the discount. In store only. YMMV

Decent deal, handful around me but don't need it. Any store that has it on clearance won't let me pickup via the app.

I'd definitely be in for one if it didn't involve going to WalMart during a pandemic and hoping their inventory is accurate.

Just FYI these things tend to die unexpectedly. I've had two of these die without warning. Better luck with the bigger WD units.

It is actually YMMV. People have had better luck with Western Digital than Seagate.

And 6tb for $79 and 8tb for $99. They had 2-3 of each in Marietta a couple nights ago.

That price on ebay is for refurbished one ( if am not wrong !)
and this one is 'brand new'
Do you mind sharing ebay link for new one at this price ? i would prefer to purchase from ebay rather than go to walmart .

I've only bought WD. I've never bought Seagate. I was comparing these little WD portable drives to the bigger WD external drives. I've had 2 little WD portable passports die and I've had zero bigger WD external drives die. I did have 1 internal WD Red drive die too (out of like 8).
