Support the under dog and order this CPU from B&H Photo Video.
Amazon does not need your money. Just my 2 cents
I've bought plenty from B&H and they've always resolved any issues.
Amazon also has it for $409: https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-...B07SXMZLP9

This CPU is amazing.

wave By the way, the $424 price at those vendors was a popular deal just 2 days ago, so anyone who ordered then may want to cancel/return, and re-buy here at this cheaper price.

It was a front page price at $420 from newegg just 3 weeks ago. And one week ago for $400 via newegg@ebay.

Don't know why AMD folks are not pimping this deal. Seems like $15 cheaper than the other day. Guess they are all out in full force on the 3600 deal since it's more obtainable at $165. All shilled out from two days ago when they pimped it this cpu for $424. I came close to building a Ryzen system but its hard to find any good X570 boards. I just preordered a Z490 tomahawk for $190. Shit if I got to wait a week or two for a good board might as well get the newest.
Simple math. To most people, 3600 is enough and cost only about 1/3 of 3900X.

Is this worth upgrading from 1st gen 8 core? I never had problems before, but now I am using 3 monitors instead of 1, and my computer stutters sometimes during 720p playback on youtube on 1 of the monitors (chrome or firefox, doesn't matter; however, my current mobo doesnt allow overclocking, so I am stuck at 3ghz base). No graphics or rendering work, just regular desktop stuff. Should I save up for 3950x or wait for that to go down instead?

I'll bite at $350
I can wait, too. 2600 seems to hold up just fine still.

I am running a 1700 with 4 monitors (2x24in , 1x 34in ultrawide and 1 49" 4k tv) with no problems. you might want to focus on ram or video card first. Im running a gtx 1070 video card and system ram is 32gb(16gb should be fine unless you are running some professional level software)

Might not be because of the CPU. How much RAM do you have? And are you running a SSD or NVME drive?
