For those that don't qualify for this or want other options

If you just want a higher bonus Citi bank is giving 700 dollars for 50k for a checking account. However, the interest rate is horrible. The good part about it is that there is no direct deposit required.
https://banking.citi.com/cbol/checking-tiered-offer/default.htm?BT_TX=1&ProspectID=7798F030CFBA43E4B... [citi.com]

Discover is 200 dollars for 25k and 1.2% interest
https://www.discover.com/online-b...4/?TPR=069

CIT bank is 300 dollars for 50k and 1.3% interest
https://cit.com/cit-bank/savings-...us-spring/

Chase is 200 dollars for 15k but I'm assuming the interest rate is pretty bad
https://accounts.chase.com/consum...rs%2FTile2

PenFed is giving 200 dollars when you deposit 1,500 dollars and make 5 debit card purchases within 90 days. No direct deposit required
https://www.penfed.org/offer/d/checkingpromo?

If you live in OH, MI, IN, PA, KY, WV & IL- Huntington Bank is giving a great deal!
Its 500 dollars for 15k with no direct deposit required. I don't know much about this deal so please look into it if you live in those states.

If you live in NY or NJ- Flushing bank is giving 700 dollars for 50k. Again I don't know much about this deal but look into it if you live in those states. I think there is no direct deposit required as well.

If you live in California Standford Federal Credit Union is given 200 dollars for 25k for a savings account. You could potentially earn more with a checking account and a debit card but I think that needs a direct deposit.

If you live in IL, MN, & WI. Associated Bank is giving 400 dollars for 25k with the option of doing 3 bill pays or one direct deposit

S&T bank in PA and OH is giving 350 if you open up an account and do 10 debit card transactions of 10 dollars each. You'll get paid in 6 months with no need for any large sum of money down. If you are in those two states this is awesome

Fulton Bank in DE, DC, MD, NJ, PA, & VA is giving 250 and do 15 debit card transactions after opening up an account

Note- all of these only need a soft pull on your credit
For the state-specific ones please do check more about them as I don't know too much about the specifics

Hope this helps someone out! Smilie
And this is what kills these capital one deals for most people:

If you have or had an open savings and/or money market account (excluding CDs, IRA savings accounts and Kids Savings accounts) as a primary or secondary account holder with Capital One on or after January 1, 2016, you're ineligible for the bonus.

Not that it's a bad place to park your money, nor a bad bonus for new customers, it's just that anyone doing bank bonuses has done captial one already, or if not, many may have had a captial one acct since 2016. They really should set them up like ally/marcus, where it just requires new money, not new customers.
Probably a shit post.

Thanks OP. Amex HY just dropped below 1.5 and I was looking for another shorter term account to use in the mean time. I haven't had a CapitalOne account, so timing worked out great for me.

I have had this account since 2016 when they did the bonuses. Now I just use this as a savings account to park 6 month emergency money since it makes better interest than the regular banks savings account.

Has anyone ascertained what the phase "and maintain" actually means?
Let's say you deposit $10,000 and want that $100 bonus. The simple answer is that the balance must be at least $10,000 for the duration of the qualifying period in order to be eligible. (I would bet the more complex answer is that the average daily balance needs to be $10K which means you could go under as long as you went equally over for the same duration)

So the easiest thing is to take however much money you can deposit, put it in, make sure you have met the initial requirements, and then just forget about it until they give you the $100-$500 bonus.

I recently did this offer and got my bonus within a day or two of the 90 day period the money has to sit in there. Their APR for now is competitive enough that I'm just going to leave my money with them.

So roughly a 1.5% APY and a 4% APY bonus kicker for 90 days, not bad.

Why 1.4%? I thought the rate was 1.5% on their site

It's a solid deal. I got in on this months ago when the APY was 1.7% + $500 bonus. We have a CapOne Cafe in my city and they're easygoing folks. The app is simple to use as well. Just make sure to check your APY every so often. They won't tell you when it changes. Mine dropped without warning and I had to transfer to a new account to maintain a higher APY.

If one had credit card account, would they qualify for this bonus or no?
