Not sure if this is a knockout deal or not and don't post a lot of deals so please go easy, just wanted to get the info to anyone interested. Seemed like a lower price than I would expect.

It's more efficient. Your Weber charcoal grill does the job well but if you're looking for an improvement in terms of versatility, ceramic dome grills are just better. It retains heat better, the charcoal lasts longer, and does a much better job in grilling, smoking, searing, etc., the only advantage of the Weber kettle is it's easier to maintain and cheaper... if anyone says the Weber kettle is better than Kamado Joe or Big Green egg, they have never used a Kamado Joe or Big Green egg... With that being said, the Weber kettle is still a must have. Easy to transport, durable, and does everything you can ask for. Doesn't hurt to have both, honestly.
This was a huge hit last November when Walmart sold it for $599 with free shipping and many also got in on the Amazon Classic II for $717 shipped. Not sure if Atlantic grill will have their sale like last June or not but I did get in on last November deal.

There's plenty of information/discussion in the last deal

Here's the Amazon deal thread with comments on the difference of Classic I and II.

I've used Weber's my whole life, and owned one of these as an "upgrade". It wasn't for me. They are designed to keep heat in for a long time. And as a result are more difficult to cool down if they get too hot. This is awesome if you are smoking or doing a long cook on some ribs. But I found it hard to do the same hot side/cold side technique in this grill as I do in my Weber. I know people love them, but I'll stick to my tried and true kettle.

I own this. It's amazing. I bought it from a Costco roadshow 4 years ago for $700+. This is an amazing deal!

Friend has one of these and made me a ribeye almost 20 years ago that I still look back fondly upon. Apparently the same process that makes tandoori chicken so tender and moist. Wish I had room for one.

With that logic, why not wait for the 3 or 4? Or maybe just wait forever?

Honest question: This looks REALLY small. $650 to serve how many people? It says 18 inches (diameter)

It's same size as Big Green Egg large.

It's the perfect size for a small family. If you're looking to do a big party, go get yourself a few Weber grills instead unless you don't mind having more than a few of these. I have a Big Green Egg mini that is 10 inches and it's perfect for 2-3 people.

Classic II is quite a bit of an upgrade over this. If you serious about grilling get Classic II

It's 18 inches inner diameter, so the cooking surface is an 18 inch diameter circle. You can easily cook for a family, throw 2-4 racks of ribs on it, smoke a brisket, pork butt, multiple chickens.
Reference: 7 years of grilling on a broil king keg which has an 18.5 inch diameter grilling surface.

Quite a bit like a hinge, top vent and upgraded gasket? Not worth the additional $300+
