FYI this deal can be found in store, if you're lucky enough to find both items in stock. I know not everyone is not a fan of this tactic but the battery could be returned, making the price of the circular saw $154.62 I believe. Which is obviously amazing. I paid $230 when the saw came out and have gotten so much use out of it. It's so easy to use one-handed, and the left-sided blade makes the line of sight great.

Same. I guess you can't have 30 seconds to decide on Milwaukee stuff.

Great saw! I caught the $239 deal with battery from a couple weeks ago, but still a good deal imo.

Whats the benefit of a rear handle vs a sidewinder? Is it just the left or right placement of the blade, so on the rear handle, for right handed people its easier to see the cut line?

Lots of it comes down to preference, role, and activities. They sidewinder e.g. "worm drive" nomenclature started with the skilzaw line.

Edit: Had this in the cart and sold out when checking out. Been on the lookout for this combo ever since the last deal. My local HDs are blah, some have the batteries, some have the saw, never both. Out of 4 HDs, only 1 would even honor the deal when in store.

Do you know if the return tactic works for other kits? Like when Dewalt bundles a drill and saw together.

I got it a few weeks ago with the initial deal. Phenomenal deal. Even better of a saw. Can't wait to use it this weekend!

I'm right handed so I definitely prefer seeing the blade on the left rather than on the right like standard saws.

You should be able to. As long as they're not bundled together, and actually ring up as separate SKUs, you should be able to return one at a reduced price.

Any idea if this would lead to an eventual ban of returns?

This doesn't work online. Found both in stock separately but the price doesn't change in cart or checkout.

I haven't heard of that, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Something like that is totally at the discretion of Home Depot.
