Really wanted LL to use with my PC and Shanling UP2, but realized I just want AirPods with AptX-LL. Can anyone recommend a good pair of TWS buds (not IEMs!) that at least have AptX?

Yes? Or maybe no. I own the Truepeats wireless Air, and I heartily recommend them, except that I ALSO own the1Mii B0302, and it doesn't connect to them, correctly. It keeps trying to treat them as two separate headphones. It also seems to be reluctant to pair automatically, to my other headphones.

However, my mii does provide excellent sound.

Reading over the details, it appears that the 1mii I own is Bluetooth 4.2, not 5.0, as is this one. I think I'll buy this one, and see how it compares.

If you're looking for a product similar to this but is able to Input and passthrough Output via Optical (i.e. receive from TV on the way to Sound System) then you should look at this one. Has a $6 off coupon currently making it $32

These products both require optical toslink data to be streamed in PCM. using yours rather than a 1 to 2 splitter will result in your soundbar never getting a surround signal and only stereo PCM.

There is no cheaper solution - If you want surround sound at your soundbar then you cannot use your pass-through option. You will need to split the TV output to the headphone transmitter and your soundbar separately with a 1 to 2 splitter. AND you will still need a 5.1 to stereo PCM converter, 1in - 1out as well for the BT transmitter.

So you're saying this device doesn't properly passthrough surround; it only passes through stereo? Grr. Is it because it's cheap?

It's only designed for PCM. It WILL pass a compressed surround signal... Unfortunately since it can't convert it to stereo it will transmit garbled took that potentially can blow out your headphone diaphragms.... Lol.

In short,. yes, cheap... they don't pay the license fee for Dolby or dts surround because they know it's intended for stereo sound.

Other than this, is there a cheaper way to connect my Bluetooth-less TV to a Bluetooth speaker? I would like to use toslink or optical output from the TV.

Cheaper than 23 bucks? not by much... this same company might have a deal on a BT 4.2 unit around $20 and others float around $17, but BT 5.0 is worth the 5 bucks.

This thing has a dac?
So how much better would the SQ be if I connect this to a BT 5.0 receiver or headphones, over older BT technology? I am sure that HD audio will reduce the distance somewhat. But it already has good range, according to the product descripton.

edit: it says "pc to audio" in the description, but that's just for power. I mean that would be a bonus, for pc users if it did. That said, most motherboards have an optical output on them. Most laptops do not however. But they have BT with limited range, and probably not BT 5.0, unless it's a new laptop.

I don't think you are correct, looks like optical in for BT to mode and optical out for BT receive mode.
If you actually have this and use it in the way you describe, I apologize in advance.

The price is right on this unit but the 4/5 star reviews still mention some discrepancies with latency. I just went through the process of reading a bunch of reviews on these units two weeks ago and settled on this unit to transmit from my home theater projector to my sound bar: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EHSX...XEbP42BHQ1
I paired that unit to transmit audio to this receiver that I plugged into the back of my sound bar: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082Y4S...XEbCXYVJC5
Together, they work flawlessly with zero noticeable latency issues (which was my biggest concern in doing this setup). I leave both units plugged in, powered on, and paired continuously so they never enter an auto-sleep mode.
The transmitter in this deal may be better for some because it offers more audio input options. I honestly would have preferred to use optical cables from the projector but there is only a 3.5mm audio out. Had this deal been posted sooner, I probably would have rolled the dice on it but if you are looking for a perfect pairing from someone that literally just did this setup with a transmitter and receiver and experienced no noticeable latency issues, I hope my references can help. Great post. Hope some folks that buy it can follow up with their experiences

Hi. Can someone list uses for this product? I don't know if I need it. It seems useful but what is it for? I have something similar in my car since my head unit doesn't have bt audio and my latest cell has no headphone jack. But at home. Why would this be necessary? My receiver has bt. My setup is a atmos setup ...both my soundbars in other rooms have bt. I just dont know what problem this is solving. Thanks.
