Nice Deal!
Although, "TS Male Straight Connector" sounds like a title of Transsexual video I would watch on the hub.

Can I use these to connect my home stereo bookshelf speakers to the head unit?

These are only 3 feet, so may be good for doing something like running a chord to or in between your effects pedals or other 1/4 mono connections between equipment, but not so much for the chord going to your guitar, unless you want to sit really close to your amp Smilie I'm going to get one pack for connecting my effects pedals, because the chords I use right now and excessively long for that purpose.

No- you want TRS cables. And they'll have 2 rings on the connector. This is for passive connections like electric guitars.

24AWG is a bit thin, but price for 5 short effects link cables is good. But, Monoprice? Maybe, I'll give them a try again. Can always use TS cables.

These are probably fine patch cables but I'd recommend building your own. I use Mogami 2319 with pancake plugs for pedal boards and 2524 for instrument cables.
