Still waiting for mine from Amazon for $410. On chat right now trying to get a $20 credit in lieu of refusing shipment. I have to stop by MC for my case already anyway, so not sure if dealing with Amazon Chat is worth it anyway...

EDIT: Yeah, not worth it to even try with Amazon.

Noticed that this morning but holding out for my target price ($359 or lower) to make it worth the 20 min drive and exposing myself to the crowds.
I guess we could PM to bestbuy in areas where MC is present, but I am sure this will drop to my target price before the end of summer.

I hope you're right. I've been holding out and now the x570 boards aren't available. I've been keeping an eye on this and within the last few weeks it's been 409 to 399 at MV. Closest one to me is 3 hours away though. Frown

Seeing all these Microcenter deals makes me wish there was one closer than 366 miles away from me.

I'm hoping for a $299 Black Friday deal.

I just don't see the benchmark gains over the 2700x to upgrade considering the price. $160 for the 2700x last fall was a steal.

That's what I am rocking still.. but if you are going to use apps that make use of multiple cores, even without the IPC gains in 3 series over 2 series, you are looking at 50% more cores. So I would think it would be a considerable gain in performance.
If comparing single threaded apps' performance, then I guess its not much. still maybe a solid 15 to 20% gain at potentially lower power consumption. But for me, as I bought the B450 board, and as it appears 4 series (zen 3) CPUs wont be supported, I will grab this at the right price and be set for a few years. I hope I can sell my less than year old 2700x for about

How is the heatsink/fan that comes with this? Is it enough for the such a beefy cpu?

I switched to water cooling with my last desktop upgrade and love the low noise level. Adding another $100 for a decent water cooler would really hurt my budget for my next machine.

Microcenter has the Ryzen 9 3900x at $389.99, usually at Microcenter, it's $409.99. If you can pair it with a Motherboard, you can also get $20 off that motherboard (although these are hard to find). I am currently seeing if my local Microcenter will honor that $20 off when they get compatible Motherboards in stock, This deal lasts to 5/21

was planning to only sell the 2700x CPU with the unused cooler, and just pop in the 3900x when it hits $360 or lower, but just learned that AMD has walked back on the recent statement about no support of zen 3 (4000 series desktop CPUs) on B450 / X470 boards, which means I could potentially wait longer until 4000 series are released and either go to 4000 series or grab the 3900x on a fire sale (hopefully).

If it is only $40 difference, I would get it right away. This CPU is so Cool. AMD just announced Zen 3 will be stay with AM4.
